C. Thi Nguyen's (@add_hawk.bsky.social?) book "The Score: How to Stop Playing Somebody Else's Game" is a brilliant book on the beauty and terror of games, scores, and metrics. As a former teacher and a game designer, this book captures so much about my life and the world.
getting myself to do things would be pretty cool ngl.
5 points in overtime on IDK how many shots is terrible. There's been like 5 missed 3's?

This guy gets it.
This is exactly where I'm at. Just a profoundly unserious team right now.
As the US falls further into authoritarianism, what specific actions should constituents of Democratic reps be demanding of them that isn't being talked about enough or at all?
What are the bottlenecks of power that Democrats could more effectively block that they're not?
This is why "fact checking" right wing people is largely a waste of time. If they cared about the facts, they wouldn't be right wing in the first place.
What happens to the billions in corporate profits from marginal little price hikes that were opportunistically blamed on tariffs?
If transphobes actually cared about "the science", they'd stop cutting funding for research.
Remember not to debate people on the terms they've stated when it's clear they're just a cover for something else. Don't respond to arguments you know are irrelevant to their real motivation.
It's pretty amazing how the Nuggets went from an absolutely lethal clutch team to such a terrible one with the same key players.
Jokic's comment about coming back from injury "gonna suck for 20 games" sure is a lot of games when everyone keeps getting hurt.
I would accept charging literally one of these fucking fucks for their heinous crimes as a start.
Do not simply repeat White House Press Releases as if you're reporting.
Irresponsible journalism that doesn't plainly say the obvious truth is partly why we've got fascists in power.
Normalize laughing derisively in men's faces when they deserve it.
AI is more useful than 90% of executives already. We should replace them.
"sometimes even good things are scary." - my coworker
I already know that every moderate Dem will happily to sacrifice their whole administration on the sham altar of bipartisan compromise with people openly advocating for their execution before they (for example) prosecute congresspeople for insider trading.
Why should lefties vote for moderate Dems when moderate Dems have repeatedly shown that they'd rather "compromise" with the radical right then work with the left to advance any of the common sense policy issues that they've been asking for?
If we lived in a world where workers all acted on their self-interest, we would have solved most of our problems already. Scolding the voters for not doing what you think they should have done misunderstands the basic job.
You argue with people on the internet so other people see they're not alone and that that shit isn't ok, and to change the mind of some other reader who comes along later.

This isn't to say that Democrats shouldn't abuse their power in order to crush the GOP. They should. Not because I approve of those kinds of abuses - or of any of the institutions in general - but because the GOP is a fascist death cult that deserves to be destroyed.
If a policy cannot be passed, but a rule change can be passed that would make it so the policy can be passed, changing the rule just for that purpose when you've recently opposed someone else changing the same rule for the same reason is an abuse of power - even if I agree with the policy this time.
Isn't there a built in way to block everyone on a list like this?
Every Democrat over 50 needs to get primaried out. They will absolutely fuck this up.
The GOP strategy for the last 20 years has hinged on their understanding that they're the only ones willing to so brazenly abuse their power.
