Anything you can do. Rent is due the 1st, and back rent needs paying so literally anything helps. Can we get $250 by the end of the month?

It's me, a redheaded white woman. I'm wearing a fuzzy pink coat and sitting in my wheelchair outside at the rainy Pride event in Brooklyn.
Happy Pride, folks
New goal: get Kristen's car worked on so we can fix or sell it (It's currently dead but still has payments for the loan and insurance).
To do that, we need a minimum of 95 for the diagnostic and 100 for AAA and the tow.
Can we get $200 this week to tackle this?

We're trying to raise $500 by Friday to help keep Kristen from being evicted.
If 50 people give $10, we meet our goal. Every little bit helps.

Please help if you can and spread the word!! It would mean a lot!
Itβs worth noting that JK Rowling is not only funding meritless legal challenges against trans people until they can appeal up to the court that will back them, she openly gloats about how this is where her money is going. This is what the Harry Potter TV show is bankrolling.
So much in this paragraph:
βThe warrants were first reported by The Daily Pennsylvanian, Pennβs independent student newspaper, which filed a lawsuit after police did not initially file the warrants with a local court.β

Every part of this is senseless and destructive.
Shame on every D who ever says this guy has a point about anything.
Went too far in raising awareness of the prevalence of sexual abuse & harassment.
Went too far in trying to hold abusers & harassers accountable.
Went too far in highlighting that abuse & harassment dramatically outstrips false accusations.
Went too far in showing how survivors are treated.
βWhat weβre seeing is a wholesale abandonment of consumer protection, leaving people to fend for themselves when credit card companies, banks, payday lenders and payment apps violate the law,β said Lauren Saunders of the National Consumer Law Center.

It's time to talk about how if people really want this American experiment aka "democracy" to survive, they will need to put bodies on the line to protect the vulnerable.
Otherwise, the United States will just become yet another nation ruled by kings, thugs, and cowards.
I have hope for the future because of the kids. If youβve never heard of DAYLO, get to know them. They are amazing!

The reason that the US is locking up tourists for weeks in hellish detention centers rather than letting them book tickets back home is because the detention centers are owned by corporations. They are charging the taxpayers fortunes to cage these people, and making bonanzas off their suffering.
Here comes the Ohio brain drain
The Administration for Community Living, housed in HHS, is shutting down. I spoke to disability experts for @motherjones.com about questions they have for whatβs next, the services ACL provides, and how this move may lead to more folks being institutionalized. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Don't Rank Eric Adams or Andrew Cuomo for Mayor is brilliant.
My theory is there aren't as many protests against cutting Medicaid as there are Tesla protests these days as organizers aren't as in touch with disabled and aging people, who tend to be more isolated.
In fact, a White House official said on Friday that despite the deal reached with Paul Weiss, Mr. Trump would continue to target law firms with executive orders, including some the president could sign as early as next week. In the Oval Office on Friday, Mr. Trump asserted that law firms "did bad things" and had attacked him "ruthlessly, violently, illegally." But now, he said, they "want to make deals."
Do you get it yet, law firms?
Whatβs happening isnβt an isolated threat to Paul Weiss or Covington or Perkins Coie.
Itβs an existential threat to the independence of the legal profession.
Youβre a fool if you think you wonβt be next.
Say something. Do something.
