Did you know #CosmoCommand is based on a 1990s indie #furry comic?
...That's not true, actually, but I had a pang of nostalgia for the aesthetic and couldn't help myself.

So #StarFox celebrated its 33rd anniversary the other day! I'm a little late, but I thought it would be fun to do another costume swap, this time featuring #CosmoCommand โs own tribal-garbed telepath trading with Star Fox's Krystal.

Just a bunch of animated save points in PS1 RPGs โค๏ธ
Shown here:
1. Chrono Cross
2. Legend of Legaia
3. Tales of Phantasia
4. Final Fantasy 7
5. Final Fantasy 8
6. Final Fantasy 9
7. Parasite Eve
8. Wild Arms
9. Xenogears
The 3D view from PS1 is also sadly abandoned. If you want more of that, Shining in the Darkness has your back.
Minus one dungeon that makes use of chutes that make it completely not obvious if you're going up or down, the main problem in PSII is the scale of the dungeons are so large so you see very little of it at a time. If they were designed exactly the same but more typical JRPG scale, they'd be fine.
Playing it today? I still love it, but you have to be the kind of masochist who really loves old school RPGs, and PSII can be particularly mean with its labyrinthine dungeons later on. The original US release came with a hint book with maps for that reason.
I actually played Phantasy Star II first, since I had a Genesis but not a Master System. Didn't get to play it until the GBA port.
As for PSII, it was special at the time for its surprisingly heavy story, and was also my first encounter with an unabashedly anime style. So it left an impression.
Nine games that define me:

Silky smooth scrolling IS hard to leave behind.
The Pro can get a lot brighter, so if you plan to draw while out and about in sunlight, the difference is quite dramatic. Color reproduction (and presentation of solid black) is also better.
Essential? Probably not.
Sailor Moon IS always a classic. Perhaps I need to combine it with that Sailor Moon drawing meme...
I just discovered Fleet (and consequently Rivals of Aether) recently! That is a great character design and good idea.
Cosmo might have some issues with certain details of Sybil's attire, but Pseudoregalia is such a great game, it would be tempting!
You don't have to pick one of these, the gif is just for fun!
Since I had such a good time with the previous costume swaps, I'm tempted to do more, but I need your help! Who should the Cosmo Crew trade outfits with? Let me know!
Rules for Swap:
1) Anthropomorphic characters, for consistency's sake.
2) Preferably another indie game or comic.
Quote some pink art! ๐ฉท
Definitely the #gameboy needed more amazons.
I am seeing to that. ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ
I'm not convinced of the background art, probably I'll fix it later.

Slowpoke jokes never get old.
Thank you! It was a fun challenge to try to capture Krystal's unique look while making her fit in with the other Cosmo Command characters.
You're too kind! Thank you so much. (But it's possible you're biased to deer!)
And a version just for @therealkrystlfox.bsky.social !

A pixel art canvas showcasing retro styled aprites of Browt, a grass type, yellow bean chick pokemon with its trademark leaf brows, Pombon, the friendly fire type Puppy pokemon and Gecqua, the water gecko pokemon, with a clever slightly mischievous expression. The three sprites are made in the style of Pokemon GSC, following space and color limitations.

I have to say I'm relly into the new game feel and I love all of these guys so freaking much. ๐๐
