Vitanza Lab Running, Walking, Raising Money for Hope - to better outcomes for pediatric cancers
Congratulations to Seattle Childrenβs Nicholas Vitanza, MD, on receiving a $1 million grant from @TheCureStartsNow Foundation and their partners, the DIPG/DMG Collaborative. Together, weβre working to create better treatment options and new hope for children and families. https://bit.ly/4m9TT9A

Amazing news for all families and patients! Great effort from the team - hard work paying off!
Great news, will surely be a highly sought after journal. And congratulations on the editor role!
Interesting talks and lovely catch ups at #SNOPeds2025
@nickvitanza.bsky.social Lab on a mission:
In September, our team and many others will run and raise towards peds cancer research.
Please consider supporting us, and please spread and share these words - every little matters!

The German Science and Humanities Council and the German Rectors' Conference criticise attacks on academic freedom and declares its solidarity with US institutions and scientists. An attack on science anywhere is an attack on science everywhere. #AcademicFreedom #HandsOff
Lots of papers about higher turnover rates and replication. Which indirectly explains more rapid mRNA production. Had to find explanation for my thesis, but didnβt find specific papers, would be interested too!
Thanks to Dr. Syal & @nbcnews.com for visiting our #CARTcell program to highlight one of our courageous little patients with #DIPG #DMG. So much work left to do but thankful for the support of Seattle Childrenβs and our brave families. β€οΈ

lots of future
If youβre feeling depressed, go out and volunteer to educate the public/support the next generation of scientists. Between the rally yesterday and a HS science fair today, Iβm feeling much better about our future, just knowing there will always be good people working and advocating for science π§¬β
Very happy to share that my spatial transcriptomic sequencing study on a DIPG-infiltrated patient brainstem has now been published. #DIPG #tumor-TME-interactions #PAC1-PACAP
All sequencing data available on GEO: GSE280990.
Sharing is much appreciated!

Thank you Nick!
Today, I am leaving this great country to continue my science journey in @nickvitanza.bsky.social lab at Seattle Childrenβs Hospital. But I may return soon with some exciting new data on DIPG for #ISPNO2026
Whilst my journey will continue in the @nickvitanza.bsky.social lab, I want to mention this local Aussie hero:
A dedicated dad that sadly lost his daughter to DIPG. Helping Australian kids and supporting researchers to hopefully improve these outcomes in the future - no mission too big!
I asked my colleague Rochelle to attend this session
