Trump assaulted renewable energy. Now America is more vulnerable to Iran’s fossil fuel shocks Oil and gas prices are affected by global factors. Countries that invested in clean tech are better positioned as the Middle East crisis escalates.

Other countries invested in renewables to shield themselves from volatile fossil fuel markets.

Meanwhile, Trump doubled down on oil and gas—then started a war in the Middle East, driving prices higher for Americans.

A new report shows that my ASAP Act would save ratepayers $1B annually.

The rest of the world is turning to renewable energy sources because of their affordability and relative ease (and low cost) of implementation.

We are falling behind every day we wait to take real action.

Proud to announce that my bill establishing the Office of Resilience has passed the Senate.

Severe weather events are costing our communities millions of dollars each year in clean up. We must streamline our climate resiliency efforts to protect residents well-being and save taxpayer money.

N.Y. Climate Action councilmember: High utility costs caused by U.S. gas exports Dr. Robert Howarth joins Capital Tonight.

It’s time to reject the oil & gas industry’s false claims. NYISO reports that natural gas, not renewables, is driving high utility costs.

We can cut emissions, lower bills and create good-paying jobs if we have the political courage to act.

Legislators call for increased universal pre-K funding and capacity Hochul's 2026-2027 fiscal year state budget plans to invest $4.5 billion in pre-kindergarten and child care, though many school districts outside of New York City would not see the funding until 2028.

We need to make UPK truly universal so families can take advantage of the program.

Waiting until 2028 does not help the 3- and 4-year-olds and their parents who need more slots today.

I joined parents & educators in Croton with @amdanalevenberg.bsky.social to call for increased UPK capacity & funding.

We appreciate the Governor’s support, but families across NY still face inequity. Pre-K shouldn’t depend on geography or a lottery. It’s time to fully fund UPK statewide.

Following 35% growth, solar has passed hydro on US grid Coal makes a bit of a comeback, if only by accident.

The 2025 numbers are in: solar remains the fastest-growing energy source in the U.S., surging 35% in just one year.

Even with efforts to prop up fossil fuels, they simply can’t compete with increasingly affordable solar power.

Supreme Court strikes down most of Trump's tariffs in a major blow to the president The decision does not affect all of Trump's tariffs but invalidates those implemented using an emergency law.

Trump may act as though his authority is absolute, but this country is still governed by the rule of law, and this decision is a reminder that his power can be checked.

I joined colleagues and angryNYSEG customers to call on the PSC to rein in proposed rate hikes.

NYers are facing a cost-of-living crisis. Families are struggling to afford the essentials; massive utility increases are not the answer.

The PSC must stand with consumers.

As the world transitions to EVs, Trump cedes the global auto market to China and the future demise of US automakers.

Trump Administration Erases the Government’s Power to Fight Climate Change

Trump continues his reckless assault on public health, the environment and rule of law.

Repealing the endangerment clause guts climate science and will cost communities billions in damages from climate related disasters while doing immeasurable harm to public health. Insane.

NY electric bills are soaring. Can more solar power save residents money? State Sen. Pete Harckham is distancing himself from Gov. Kathy Hochul's all-of-the-above energy strategy and going all-in on solar power.

Texas has embraced solar energy and already saved ratepayers $30B.

Instead of doubling down on volatile natural gas, which drives up utility bills, we should accelerate the transition to more affordable solar power. Passing the ASAP Act alone would save NYers more than $1B every year.

Pride Flag Is Removed From Stonewall Monument After Trump Directive

Removing the Pride flag from a key symbol of LGBTQ+ history is another attempt by Trump to erase our country's history and marginalize community members.

We won’t let our history be rewritten. We stand proudly with the LGBTQ+ community, always.
