a giant, multicolor crazy quilt made of plastic packaging collected for an entire year from a family of four. It covers an entire wall 26 feet wide with 12 banners starting at the ceiling and unfurling down the wall onto the floor. Titled Year of Plastic, Family of Four by Kalliopi Monoyios.

ever wondered what you throw away in a year? A friend collected her family’s thin plastic packaging for me for an entire year. The resulting quilt I made is 26-ft wide by 26-ft long at its longest. Always open to collecting someone else’s for a different window into our waste! 🐡🌎 must be CLEAN 🪤🐭

A hand knit sweater is laid flat on a wooden floor. It is sized for 2-year-olds, and has diagonal yoke shaping and allover stranded colourwork. The hem, cuffs, and neckline are knit in a silver grey yarn. The rest is knit in colourful stripes of dusty rose, neon yellow, anthracite, neon red, and light sky blue. Every colourful stripe has beige sheep of differing sizes facing forward. Pattern: Flax Sock by Tin Can Knits without the garter stitch panels, and with the colourwork chart centered on the body and arms Yarn: Ovis et Cetera Herba Mini Skein Set and Lanivendole A Stormy Blend Fingering in Perla

Pattern: Musselburgh by Ysolda Teague with a colourwork chart added Yarn: Ovis et Cetera Herba Mini Skein Set and Lanivendole A Stormy Blend Fingering in Perla

A hand knit toque is laid flat on a wooden floor. It is sized for smaller adult heads, and has allover stranded colourwork. It is knitted in beige yarn with colourful stripes of dusty rose, neon yellow, anthracite, neon red, and light sky blue sheep facing forward. In this picture you can see that it is knitted as a long tube with both ends rounded off, making the end result a double layered toque. Quadruple layered if you fold up the hem. On the bottom half you can see that Cesca ran out of the colourful mini skeins, and used it all up before adding an ice blue for the second crown. You can also see that the colourwork pattern is turned upside down over the bottom half, so the sheep are right side up whichever way around the toque is worn. Pattern: Musselburgh by Ysolda Teague with a colourwork chart added Yarn: Ovis et Cetera Herba Mini Skein Set and Lanivendole A Stormy Blend Fingering in Perla

🧶 #ShowMeYourKnits Animals, you say? How about a matching, but inverted toddler-adult set with colourful sheep? My nibling luckily could wear this sweater for two winter seasons, and I bring out this Musselburgh when it’s extra cold because it is the THICKEST and warmest toque I own. #KnitSky

She is crouched in front of a dead olive tree, that is embroidered in a light green color. It hangs from a stick of an olive tree (ethically sourced from Portugal). The light green outline of the tree matches the outlines of mother and child) Multi colored yellow white and brown thin yarn that looks stringy, makes up the tassels at the bottom

I made this piece in 2024. I made the weave and then embroidered over it while still on the loom
