That #RaspberryPi 5 design has become my best seller, too.

What were the most popular designs in my store in February?
My stylized #RaspberryPi led the pack, plus two commissioned designs, a toilet that might play DOOM, and my own personal motto.
Very much #maker and #hacker focused. 👍🏽

#InternationalWomensDay is today, 08mar. In celebration, I wrote about the origins of my Women Inventors #patent designs. Amazing #makers, all of them.

Oh, such heady times, when skeuomorphism was de rigueur for any software with a graphical interface
Brilliant
Was cheeky and did a kapton tape design - an essential for every #hardware #makerspace
Shirt coming soon.
#maker's gotta #make
Ugh, the joys of retail.
I've been adding 2XL size to all my new listings, and to my older listings as I can or should.
Sooo many to go.
I wonder how I can let folks know they can ask for other sizes.
In any case, will keep adding as I can. 🙄
[Feedback from shirt sellers or buyers welcome]
Cheeky. Creative. Fun. What's more to ask?

Was looking into #opamp #filters and liked the look of these three circuits. So whipped up hand-drawn illustrations of them for my #maker inspired designs. #Electronics #Art indeed.
Sallen-Key topology for your viewing pleasure.
Haha, kept it. Sometimes errors can be fun or illuminating. Kinda like kintsugi - the crack is the story.
I sometimes leave misspellings alone. They just seem more interesting. Haha.
Close up of design on black shirt. The design is in field-guide style white a 3x3 grid of silhouettes of popular Adafruit boards, with blaze highlights where the LEDs are. Above the silhouettes is the title "Field Guide for Adafruit Boards". Boards shown - Metro M4 Express, Feather M0 express, Fruit Jam, ItsyBitsy M0 Express, Circuit Playground Express, Metro Mini, KB2040, QT Py SAMD21, and the Trinket M0
My shirt today. I've built something with five of these @adafruit.com boards. How many have you used?
[BTW, the illustrations on the shirt are 1:1 scale 😁]

Would make a nice prznt
Feeling under strain? haha
[and, obviously, I get a kick out of patent drawings]

Int'l Women's Day is coming up next Sunday (08mar). In celebration, I wrote about the origins of my Women Inventors #patent designs.

I've also made a video of the current designs.

Also, great for learning to code Circuit Python and prototyping ideas for other more adventurous builds.
Ugh, whenever I see cap-leak stories I shudder thinking of my old Mac II ('87) and early iMac ('99) - what might they look inside?
I’ve been trying to define my process for creating hand-drawn #maker #designs. In a post on my new Grey and Slate blog, I contextualize my process as part of a long tradition of #artists using optical and mechanical aids.
There's a #raspberrypi 'build' video, too.

Was a bit cheeky this weekend and worked up a #RAMaggedon shirt.
In the course of this, I had whipped up a #GPU drawing - a culprit in the RAM shortages. So I have a shirt of that, too.
See both here:

Do you recognize the GPU model?

A maker space with benches and materials for crafting, some stools, and artwork hung on the walls.
Visited a lovely new local #makerspace. The kind owner, tho setting up for class, took the time to show me around. It's a 'soft-tech' space for adults to work with textiles, paper, paints, yarn, and such. No CNCs or laser cutters.
Looking forward to making use of the space!

Ugh, didn't realize one couldn't change Reddit username after commenting. Now I am u/No_Magician1477 for eternity.
Or I could start again. Only have upvoted or commented a few times.
D'oh.
favorite word of the week: boom'idea (not sure how to spell it, but the woman who said it made it sound like one word, hah)
what's your latest boom'idea?
I keep thinking how long before we had a semblance of normal after the chip shortages of 2020-2021. And the pain we had to deal with in that period.
Once more, with (empty) feeling.

My latest #maker designs coming out in the next two weeks. Lots of #patents, a few specifically from #women #inventors (Margaret Knight, Beulah Henry, Margaret Crane).
I find the drawing of old patents to be really cool. I go for the visually interesting ones.
What do you think?
Haha, the New Mother!
Dragon!
Used to be a big reader of them. I have a box still of a bunch from the ‘80s.
I received another commission to do some hand-drawn designs for shirts. Yay!
These were for an #Amiga clone by www.enterlogic.se
One of them you can see in the video below.
You can get this design and the four other variants here: greyandslate.etsy.com?search_query...

From Wikipedia:
"You know I am black and if it was known that a Negro woman patented the invention, white ladies would not buy the wringer; I was afraid to be known because of my color in having it introduced in the market, that is the only reason."
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellen_E...
Researching for my Women Inventor's shirts, I stumbled on the story of Ellen F Eglin, who invented a clothes wringer ca. 1888.
She sold her invention thinking no one would buy something invented by a black woman.
Well, here's her patent, with a few mods.
