you can love your parents and also stand by as they suffer the learning curve of adult life. translation apps exist, friends and neighbors exist. you don't have to stop helping them forever but hard boundaries will be have to set a course to independence

im so sorry you're in this situation. having a parent that depended on me for a lot of things as well, nothing short of leaving them to their own devices will do the trick. you can give as much guidance as you can, but without the prospect of consequences from their inaction, they won't budge
