I’ve been out of a professional kitchen now for 3 months. And today I felt like baking again for the first time. I just did some prep for bigger plated desserts, but it felt good. It’s difficult when a situation robs you of your passion. But it’s coming back.
I’m so paranoid about my phone listening all the time and sending target ads, then I get an email from The Ritz and I’m being inundated with bracelet ads from Tiffany’s. Either my phone thinks I sound rich, or it isn’t listening as carefully as I’d feared.

I understand all of this, and also support WFH. My point was that it happened suddenly, and the time to adapt wasn’t there. Of course I think cafes can thrive, but the model of landlords basing rent on traffic patterns was disrupted overnight and left a lot of small businesses vulnerable.
As a former cafe owner in downtown, I can for one say the type of business that suffers when people work from home. You rent space in downtown and pay crazy ass rent because it puts you in front of a concentrated populations. They go, rent stays. You go.
Honestly, I think I’m hers.

Even though there’s barely a skim of snow, Betty was happy to plow her nose down the median on our dark walk this morning.
I sent mine a grocery list with pictures of each item…so he’s got a little confidence in you.
My adorable pup is terrified of cameras, and strangers. When I was walking her, people kept telling me I should take her to get her picture taken…her soul would leave her body.

That’s the old hood for me! I grew up on Brightwood - bet they live in the golf course.
We will not get peace until he’s dead. I am so tired of waking up and hearing what that man has done, is about to do or is threatening to do. And if it’s this pervasive in Canada, I can’t imagine having to live under his government daily.
