Stop motion puppet made with needle felting. An prototype eye in grey is on the left. The original black safety eye is on the right.
Close up of stop motion puppet. The prototype eyeβs base is hidden behind thin wool felt.
How the prototype eye is split into 2 parts that connect with 2 tiny magnets.
Close up of prototype eye and base attached together magnetically. Compared to black plastic safety eye.
Prototyping eyes for Milo. Theyβre split into a base thatβs hidden and the actual eye. Iβm using magnets to act as registry keys to keep them aligned. Planning to design a few eye expressions for animation tests. #stopmotion #animation #needlefelting #art
I just got flooded with a bunch of memories of watching this and Transformers Beast Wars.
Thank you! I think it adds a bit of warmth to it.

Lamp shade made with 3D printing
Wooden base salvaged from a fake plant pot. This is how it looked before cutting and sanding modifications.
My mini project lately has been making this LED ambient lamp. The wooden base was from a plant pot that broke. I chopped some sections off and sanded off the stain. Then I designed the lamp in Tinkercad and printed it with PLA filament. #3dprinting #design
Not sure how much game dev experience you have, but as someone whoβs had the same desire, Iβd try to make it as small and simple as possible. Just to learn the pipeline and see how my idea looks and functions. Could even be substituting a tutorial with your own stop motion assets.
I started prototyping a 3D printed automata mechanism. The goal is to offer my automata toys at a more affordable price (the characters will still be handmade). But Iβm worried Iβve possibly lost the charm that a fully handmade piece carries. #art #automata
Many thanks!
Something I havenβt mentioned anywhere, I didnβt record any LAV or have a reference for animating this. Was tight on time, so I was just acting out the movements every frame. Thank god I didnβt hit the tripod.

Excited to follow the progress on this. Relatedly, would love to see a vid on how you manage personal projects. Things like time management and being overwhelmed by the scope are still a struggle for me.

Finished my wood carving. Itβs a little ragdoll cat desk buddy. About 5 cm (2β) tall. Made with basswood and acrylic paint. Available in my shop. #cat #art #woodcarving
Milo animation test 01. Been a while since I did puppet animation. Trying to get a feel for how he moves with short limbs. #stopmotion #indieanimation #needlefelting #art #oc
Looks awesome! Must be exciting to have a physical print.

My Mushishi Collectorβs Edition Vol 1 arrived. This is the Kinokuniya cover variant which came with a shikishi. Iβve been waiting over a decade for a new English manga release as the original run is so expensive. Iβm incredibly happy right now.

Painting the nose onto the calico cat clay keychain.
Made myself a keychain with clay and resin. I still havenβt settled on a design for Mug Cat but this version is my favorite so far. Currently editing the full art process for YouTube.

Grouped all the automata toys Iβve made so far and animated them. Itβs cool to see the little ways I experimented with each one and how that compounded over time.

A range of paint palettes. Upper left is a plastic palette with wells. Bottom left is a small silicone palette with wells. Right is a large ceramic palette tray. #art #painting
I tried a ceramic palette for the first time. Might be my favorite in terms of cleaning acrylic and gouache paint. I always struggled with the plastic one (upper left). The silicone (bottom left) was decent, but my art projects outgrew the small size.
I made another Halloween automata toy for this year. Itβs a tiny witch popping out of a cauldron. Full process of how I made it over on YouTube. youtu.be/tA0jOQEVDsE

A screenshot of my YouTube subscriber count for my art and animation channel. #art #youtuber
Woke up to a nice surprise. Iβm finally close to 1000 subscribers on YouTube. Iβve been experimenting with my art and animation videos the past year, so it feels nice to see some results.

Love that cover! Excited to see how this project goes.
Finished making another automata toy. Itβs a simple spinning carousel. Made of basswood, brass, clay, and acrylic paint. Full art process on YouTube: youtu.be/17ON2DSrKVU

A cat flopped on a load of bread. The idea is based on a clay desk buddy I sculpted recently.
A painting based on the cat bread clay sculpture I made recently. This is also a free digital wallpaper in my art shop.

I sculpted a cat lying on some bread. I enjoyed making this way more than I thought I would. About 1β or 2.5 cm long. #cat #baking #art #clay
Completely understand. Thereβs a bit of pressure to be βon brandβ for an audience. But it kinds of kills creativity for me, so I try experiment and explore as much as I can. I hope youβll post more of your other works sometime!
These are great! Itβs really impressive seeing how far your range goes. I just learned about artfight the other week and I wish I knew about it sooner.
Hi #PortfolioDay. I finally updated my stop motion showreel. Includes personal and freelance work. Iβm open for animation and puppet fabrication opportunities.

Huge congrats! Glad to see the journey continue. π
Thanks for sharing this! Itβs always insightful to see how other artists approach their work. The final piece turned out very comfy. π
