One of our Library Lovers Month 2026 Sweepstakes entries, with a picture of a man standing in front of the 2019-2020 "A Cypher in Queens" sculpture exhibit at Central Library. Jean-Elie L. writes, "On February 29, 2020, my brother I visited the Central Library in Jamaica, Queens to see Sherwin Banfield‘s three sculptures known as “A Cypher in Queens,” which portrays Run DMC’s Jam Master Jay, A Tribe Called Quest’s Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor, and Mobb Deep’s Albert “Prodigy” Johnson, all of whom are Hip Hop artists from Queens that passed away. I have many fond memories of Queens Library, but this particular memory stands out as possibly my favorite."
One of our Library Lovers Month 2026 Sweepstakes entries, with our Library Lovers Month logo (a heart made of photos of our customers having a great time at the Library). Maria S. writes, "I got my electronic QPL card several years ago, when I moved to a relatively small town in southern California that didn't have a great library system. Since then I keep my QPL card maxed out, with a to-be-read list that's 790 strong and growing every day, thanks to recommendations I find on Libby from QPL. I'm a huge library fan and so appreciative that QPL understands that the library community isn't just the people who live near an outstanding library. Thanks for all the care you provide to readers no matter their interests or their proximity. Libraries are the front line of democracy, literacy, freedom of speech and thought, and history...and those things have never mattered more."
One of our Library Lovers Month 2026 Sweepstakes entries, with a picture of a man, a woman, and their child. The child is holding a book about galaxies, and the man is holding up one of the child's drawings. Tzupei L. writes, "We had a wonderful experience attending a reading and painting event about space and galaxies at the Richmond Hill Library. The library plays an important role in bringing families together and promoting children’s learning in a fun and engaging way. My daughter’s name is Galaxy, a name her dad chose with the hope that she would grow up humble and limitless, just like the galaxy itself. During the program, she listened to a story about space and created artwork showing three different types of galaxies. It was a joyful and meaningful experience that connected our family through learning and creativity."
A heart made of photos of our customers having a great time at the Library, and the words "Queens Public Library Celebrates National Library Lovers' Month Through February 28."
The Library isn’t just a building — it’s where stories begin.
Reminder: Our #LibraryLoversMonth Sweepstakes ends on February 28!
