A milestone moment for Ellison Institute of Technology Oxford — and a huge credit to our incredible team.

Today we celebrated topping out on our EIT Oxford campus at Littlemore House, reaching the highest point of construction and marking a major step forward in this journey.

I really enjoyed meeting John-Arne Røttingen, Chief Executive Officer of the Wellcome Trust. I continue to be impressed by Wellcome’s extraordinary contribution to advancing medicine in the UK and globally.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Kirsty Duncan, former Minister of Science of Canada. I had the privilege of working with her closely on research funding and the Fundamental Science Review, and of welcoming her to UBC in 2017 and 2019. We have lost a truly wonderful public servant.

Thank you so much to the Ellison Scholars who attended my lecture today on EIT Oxford. I’m incredibly proud of how you’re doing and inspired by your curiosity and engagement.
