Corporate Media Buries Story of US and Israel Killing 168 in Girls School Attack
No front-page stories in NYT, WSJ, WaPo. No mention on NBC and CBS Sunday Shows. No stand alone segments on Evening News shows. A death count on par with the OKC bombing is relegated to the back page.
I wrote about how the US and Israel carried out an attack on an Iranian girls school on par with the OKC bombing and US media relegated it to a back page story. No stand alone evening news segments, no front page stories, it made A11 in the NYT then everyone moved on.

Congress Is Considering Abolishing Your Right to Be Anonymous Online
The bipartisan push to remove anonymity from the internet is ushering in an era of unprecedented mass surveillance and censorship.
I wrote about the House hearing today, how Congress is trying to strip anonymity from the Internet, and the devastating effects that has for journalists, whistleblowers, LGBTQ ppl, immigrants, civil rights activists, abortion providers and anyone challenging power for @theintercept.com

Reform fury as someone else wins
by Our By-election Editor
Tim Shipsink
The losing candidate in the Gorton and Denton by-election, Matt Goodwhinge, has demanded an immediate re-run of the election on the grounds that he lost
comprehensively to someone else.
"It's totally unfair and rigged,"
said Goodwhinge.
"I shouldn't
be required to sit there and suck it up, just because I lost."
Mr Goodwhine continued, *I can't believe that all those voters I demonised failed to back me.
Especially after I was endorsed by Tommy Robinson and ten million Russian bots on X.
"We have clear evidence of family voting, where people voted in order for me to stop deporting their families."
Mr Badloser concluded. "I'm the victim of colour prejudice.
They didn't vote for me simply because I'm not green."
Reform leader
Mr Farage,
speaking from a sun lounger on a rock near the Chagos Islands said,
"It's a tragedy that the people of Manchester won't see Matt in Westminster, but my constituents don't see me in Clacton either."
PLUMBER DEFEATS

I've stopped the cock
Beautiful from Private Eye on the massive toddler-tantrum that Matt Goodwin and Reform are having, because they got whooped in Gorton and Denton.

Trump Was a Warmonger in the 2016 Primary Too
A part of me thinks this isnβt really the time to write this post. The present reality is Trump has spent his second term escalating massacres of civilians across the globe, taking out foreigβ¦
Trump's campaign in 2016 foreshadowed what both his admins did. His supposed criticism of the Iraq War came in the form of "we should have committed more war crimes and stolen everything."
His foreign policy is colonialism + fascist grievance culture

I think one of the things that bothers me the most about the way Polymarket presents itself to the world is that it's adopted the language of journalism to make itself sound more legitimate. Like look at this post from yesterday morning incorrectly "projecting" the winner.

There's been a lot of debate within the Democratic establishment about what rhetoric to use via ICE.
Well, an incumbent doesn't lose by 48 percentage points very oftenβand her vote on collaborating with ICE was the defining issue here.

This spells out what we've always known about institutional and community contempt for trans people in death, and elaborates on how that is intensified by anti-Blackness and transmisogyny.
Transmisogynoir means Black trans women's deaths are dismissed, lied about, and not investigated.

Texas AG Paxton Declares Therapists Affirming Trans Youth To Be Illegal And Child Abuse
The declaration echoes his 2022 efforts to target parents of trans youth with child abuse, and may force conversion therapy on trans youth in the state.
1. This morning, Texas AG Ken Paxton just released a chilling new declaration:
Mental health therapists, counselors, and psychologists must cease affirming trans youth - using their name and pronouns - or potentially face child abuse charges and loss of licensure.
Its a horrifying escalation.

First, itβs a mistake to say that Trump got America into war on Saturday. What he did was respond to a war that Iran has been waging against the United States since 1979.
Cool hey did anything happen *before* 1979 between the United States and Iran

Where Are They Now?: The Pundits Who Got Iraq Wrong
One would think that cheering the U.S. into war in Iraq would have been a career-destroying mistake. Alas...
Back in 2023, for the 20th anniversary of the war in Iraq, I did a "where are they now?" article about the pundits who cheered on the U.S. invasion www.readtpa.com/p/where-are-...

Breadroll also likes to take selfies.

Measles was wiped out in the U.S. 25 years ago and now weβre already past 1,000 cases in February because vaccination rates dropped below the safety line. This is what happens when public health gets gutted and people stop trusting basic science.

They won't start with banning birth control. First they'll lie about it. Then dictate who can prescribe it, use it, fund it, in what forms, and for how long. Suddenly, your doctor won't call you back. I know this is what they'll do because it's what they're doing to transgender healthcare right now.

It's not even the closest to the worst or most offensive movie I've seen in the theatre, not even close. It was just the sheer scale of disappointment, and the hurdles I had gone through as a poor agoraphobe to get there, to be so insulted with such a bad script.
