It's been a long time, but worth the wait to spend an afternoon with a friend on a Sarasota beach. I enjoyed catching up with game and toy inventor Tim Walsh, snacking on shrimp with our feet in the cool, powdery sand. And then the sun set...

TantrumCon2026: I enjoyed seeing friends, making new ones, teaching my games, playing others' prototypes, and being on the jury of the "Proto-Tank" prototype pitching event.
Played "A Daily Cloud" by friend Tim Walsh. We didn't vote or score points--just had fun together sketching, writing and sharing! The family we played with ordered it immediately.
Yes, and obviously, there was also no political intent behind Kasper's game, either. I'm always making connections between games and life, whether it was intended or not.
A Ukrainian refugee friend released her new song with my son Ben on electric guitar. Christy Anna writes that her songs "turn pain into beauty, stories that are hard to speak about, hoping that when you listen, you find healing, truth & a place that feels like home." www.youtube.com/watch?v=MD2h...
Interesting how "Normal Human" seems to represent so well the current immigrant experience in the U.S., while "Totally Human" echoes the current fear mongering of "It's an invasion!"
Great concert from Songs of the Folk, playing songs inspired by 2 years in England, including playing in prisons and jamming with refugees. They have also just founded a non-profit to support their continued work of playing in prisons in the U.S. called For the Folk.
Another review of Reef Gardens, with a score of 9/10! www.spieletest.at/gesellschaft...
Neuauflage des OOP Golden Game 'Citrus' im modischen Setting: #ReefGardens. Auch in dieser Fassung ein tolles PlΓ€ttchenlegespiel!
@jeffreydallers.bsky.social
Thank you! I love that version of the game!
A gamer friend and his 6-year old son set these up for my birthday: a word search with the names of 7 of my published games (they are not always in a straight line) and "Happy Birthday, Jeff" spelled out with tiles from Dorfromantik.
That was my first thought, but it plays completely different. I do like Hive too.
Yes, your first photos of your homemade version always looked very appealing to me. So glad I could finally get a copy. You did a great job with it, both with the mechanics and the presentation. Fun to play and to leave out on the coffee table!
Finally played High Tide by @marcelineleiman.bsky.social with my son during Thanksgiving break. We enjoyed the simple rules of this fast 2-player abstract. Perfect for quick games on the coffee table between family events! He took it back to school to play with college friends during study breaks.
Taking a break for awhile. Boardgamegeek and yucata.de will be my social media for the next months.
What about you, Clarence?
Interesting! I didnβt watch the Emmyβs but this is a great βpostscriptβ to your book on loss aversion.
Punk sucht Lady!
Wholeheartedly agree.
Marshmallow Test on a pizza box while tailgating before a football game. My parents enjoyed this trick-taker by Reiner Knizia. When you win 4 tricks, you're out and score for OPPONENTS' tricks at that point. Go out later to score more, but failing to go out scores 0!
Nice! We were there the same time. I was at ISU from 88-94 (Architecture) And yes, basketball was more fun (and successful) with student tickets. I even smuggled my dad in on a student ticket one game!
When did you graduate?
Then and now
I went to my first Iowa State football game since 1999. Such a fun experience with my Mom and Dad. I grew up going to the games, and later went to college here. So fun to be back, even for a short time! And my team won 55-7 on a beautiful day.
My son in his happy place...π€β€οΈ
I did not know that!
It was fun, but definitely not the Space Invaders I remember!
My wife isnβt really a gamerβat least, not as much as I amβbut I was immediately attracted to her spontaneity and playful spirit. We found this arcade while waiting for our table at a restaurant.
Some of the art and components for my upcoming game with DLP Games, Reef Gardens!
Yay, Donut Shop!
