There's something about the detail, rigor, and making (and breaking) of systems in type design that hits all the right spots for me.
Not saying I’m giving up on illustration, creative coding, or character design. But I do think I want to blend them together with explorations in type.
Made it to the weekend. Time to clean my first real font, Outpost Mono, so I can send to a few folks next week for some real world testing. I’ve fallen in love with type design, typography, and experimental type. I think this might me “my thing.”
Lovart is just a poorly built front-end on ChatGPT. ChatGPT alone is faster & more interactive as a design partner.
Tried Lovart again now that's its launched. Very unimpressed. It was slow, gave me "ideas" scraped from Adobe Stock & Creative Market. At least they didn't try to hide the watermarks.

Making art for Paige. I started yesterday on the anniversary of her death, but it was too hard. I’m back at it today. She loved Labyrinth and had a ‘Should you need us’ tattoo. I thought I’d draw the characters and make a poster for her. Here’s the progress so far today.
Nothing like cozy lighting and some good IDM during a nor’easter.
We’ve got a lot of work ahead, and I’m more excited than ever for what’s coming.

This past Friday, I had the privilege of attending the Adobe Illustrator VIP Community Summit in New York.
Together with my Adobe colleagues and Illustrator community VIPs, we spent the day immersed in product demos, collaborative discussions, and honest feedback sessions.
