Can't say the title of the new ZEZTZ opening is inaccurate, because I've been Playing it Back all day. ๐
(At least until I get the full length version.)

Doctor Who: The Quest of the Engineer
8/10
Another really solid adventure, for the most part. Investigating another potential CVE leads the Doctor and company to a planet ship and its masterfully cruel engineer... Er, the Engineer. Plenty to like here, another fine E-Space story.
#doctorwho
It's funny; I've seen plenty of fandoms imagine speed run AUs where characters are sent back to the beginning of their stories with knowledge of what happens plenty, but it's something else to see it happen in canon.
In other news, I am back on board for Zeztz! Let's go crazy!

5 Evil Sunz Nobs in red armour armed with Power Klaws
These fine gentlemen have been sitting built and primed on the shelf since summer, but now finally I got to give them some attention. Feels like ages since I painted Orks! Very quick and easy to paint compared to the Space Wolves, but maybe to a slightly lower standard.
Well said. It's up to us to keep the spirit of 4th Edition alive!

Ears are burning! 4E mention!
Golden Age Superman stands head to thigh alone in a panel black at the top and red on the bottom where Superman stands pointing at the reader as he says, "Be wary of unscrupulous operators of gambling games--they are always on the look out for unsuspecting victims."
Doctor Who 12 (816)
Ditto.
Doctor Who: The Planet of Witches
7/10
Lot to like about this; witch hunts through E-Space, flying wicker men, lost space probe gone made, classic stuff really. Kind of feels lacking in varied locations, but it could be argued that would have worked well as a classic TV serial.

#NewComics this week:
JSA #17 - Yay, Stargirl and Atom Smasher are back on the team! ๐
Moonstar #1 - Don't want to say I'm disappointed, but when I picked this up I was hoping for more stuff focused on Moonstar, and less... Whatever's going on in the Thor books?

Doctor Who: Chase the Night
8/10
Now that's more like it! A very interesting premise that sees the cast in a dwindling situation where they must keep on the night-side of the planet they're on, lest they burn to ash when the dawn overtakes them. A fresh breath after Purgatory.

Doctor Who: Purgatory 12
4/10
Ugh. Is it a bad sign this was an Adric story? What an aggravating sit; depressingly dull and frustratingly boring. It struggled to keep my attention as I held on hoping it would end sooner. E-Space can keep this one.

Doctor Who: The Third Doctor Adventures
The Unzal Incursion
8/10
Redemption for Liz Shaw! A very UNIT heavy story, the main draw here is the strong chemistry between our three leads of the Doctor, Liz, and the Brigadier. Serves as kind of set up for season 8 of the classic era.
#doctorwho
Operation: Hellfire
6/10
Bit of an odd duck with lots of disparate parts; a Satanic Nazi cult, a Time Lord artifact and a paradox that guarantees the Doctor gets involved because he must when he otherwise really doesn't want to. Appropriately, has a very pulp fiction feel to it.
#doctorwho
Doctor Who: The Third Doctor Adventures - Volume Six
Poison of the Daleks
7/10
Starts like an average UNIT story, but by the end of the first part our cast is neck-deep in toxic clouds and Daleks! Had me laughing at one bit with the Brig playing army general on an alien world.
#doctorwho
The Scream of Ghosts
7/10
Starts promising with eerie happenings going on and a mystery surrounding electronic transmissions, with a fun reversal by the end. (Not enough room to say before, but Jon Culshaw is PERFECT as the Brigadier - uncanny soundalike, I swear!)

Doctor Who: The Third Doctor Adventures - Volume Five
Primord
3/10
Awful. Just awful. As I mentioned, the red flag here was focusing on a beastie that was pure fluff in its original story, but also serves as character assassination for Liz Shaw. Least we have the Brigadier now.
#doctorwho
The Tyrants of Logic
9/10
Excellent! A proper Third Doctor Cyberman story, at last! This is perhaps one of the most harrowing Cybermen stories in a long while, with things looking so bleak it almost seemed like there'd be a much messier end. Eat your heart out, Borg Collective.

Doctor Who: The Third Doctor Adventures - Volume Four
The Rise of the New Humans
6/10
This was a very kooky one and I'm kind of disappointed the plot wasn't what I thought was from the beginning. Feels like certain writers are trying to beat "evil Sarah-Jane" record with Jo?
#doctorwho #bigfinish
Storm of the Horofax 8/10
Has an obvious twist antagonist, but is enjoyably hateable once the shoe drops. The idea of the Horofax is interesting and could be worth revisiting, and ends on a well-executed down note. Title barely makes much sense though.

Doctor Who: The Third Doctor Adventures Volume 3
The Conquest of Far
7/10
A rarity being a Dalek story that doesn't have "Dalek" in the title. Kind of suffers a bit keeping the Doctor and Jo separate from each other for a long while, and a rather obvious betrayal sub-plot.
#doctorwho #bigfinish
The Hidden Realm
8/10
This had some particularly great build-up with an eerie atmosphere leading into it. It kind of gets spoiled once the mystery is uncovered, and some of the visuals are kind of odd to visualize, but still fairly good.
#doctorwho #bigfinish
Doctor Who: The Third Doctor Adventures Volume 2
The Transcendence of Ephros
9/10
Liked this one; a planet that is about to explode is the site of a new wave faith movement with its followers seeking ascension, an underlying conspiracy, and the TARDIS is lost in a quake. Oh no!
#doctorwho
The Havoc of Empires
7/10
A mystery IN SPAAACE- And a rarity in that Mike Yates goes on a TARDIS trip. Has some shades of both "the Curse-" and "the Monster of Peladon" with clashing alien cultures, a political marriage and assassination plots.
#doctorwho #thirddoctor #bigfinish
Prisoners of the Lake
8/10
Solid lead-in adventure; does a great job of establishing that classic feel of the UNIT family (sans the Brigadier but we'll be seeing him soon). Lotta fun use of some gadgets, a ticking clock, and that trademark Third Doctor flair. Good stuff. ๐

Doctor Who: The Third Doctor Adventures
Tackling this as a set on the whole, then will do both individual stories. First, Tim Treloar? Pretty good Pertwee impression. For some reason both have third-person narration? And Katy Manning playing young Jo takes some getting used to.
#doctorwho
Doctor Who: The Perfect Prisoners - Part Two
8/10
There's barely time before things start ratcheting up again as the Doctor just manages to escape one dire situation for another. Has maybe my favorite defeat of a smug villain in some time and understated yet sad ending.
#doctorwho #bigfinish
Doctor Who: The Perfect Prisoners - Part One
8/10
The first half of our concluding story; hits the ground running and quickly picks up from where the narrative left off in "Time's Assassin". You may see the twist coming in this, but it's still neat to see it all fit together.
