During my residency in Vienna I spent time studying how performance works through attention, presence, and time.
Not through books - but through objects, archives, installations, and small exercises.
Counting.
Listening.
Watching how bodies become medium.

I always start in a local store - thatโs where a place reveals itself: food, rhythm, language, advice.
On the island, lokma became part of that ritual.
A pause to taste the world as it is.

Passed a shepherd tending sheep on Bรผyรผkada.
No cars. No urgency. Just rhythm.
I recorded the bells, then realized the island didnโt want documentation - it wanted interpretation.

2021. Iโm on an island, exploring pedals, synths, keyboards, and improvs for hours. Some ideas ridiculous, some meaningful. Five islands, daily crossings, the project built itself.

Princes' Islands matched my inner rhythm: quiet corners, slow mornings. Bรผyรผkada felt like home; I explored Heybeliada for different textures of calm. Strange enough, the same instinct took me to Egyptโs desert - learning to hear myself in unfamiliar places. ๐

Some places reset you.
For me, it was the ferry - watching the Marmara fade and return.
A quiet loop from shore to shore.
On the island, the first thing you do is find yourself.
Usually by listening.
You take in its frequencies - past you carried, the now youโre standing in, future you stop chasing.
Follow trees, trails, wind - and the island starts revealing itself in layers.
Thatโs where the album began forming.
Arriving on Bรผyรผkada after Egypt - the noise stopped, and something quieter began.
I didnโt know what Cornershop Adalarฤฑ would become, only that the island felt alive.
A mixtape between continents, made of air, sea, and sound.
