Yeah I'm sure Universal Legal would enjoy writing them a cease and desist letter. It seems like Krotos just took this persons personal instagram post and are now running it as a Facebook ad.

I don't find Krotos software useful personally, fine for those who do. I've never heard anything out of Dehumanizer I thought sounded good and every time I tried it, I quickly gave up on it. So I just want to set the record straight, no Krotos software was used on the movie Jurassic World Rebirth.

I was about to find this post on Instagram, and it appears this person was using Krotos Studio to do the sound effects for his own version of the trailer. Fine. But IF Krotos is running this as an ad, I think it's in pretty bad taste. They certainly don't label it as 'fan art'.

A friend sent me this, asking if this person, or @krotos.bsky.social had anything to do with Jurassic World Rebirth, the answer is NO, I have no idea why Krotos is seemingly running what may be a pretty misleading ad that sort of implies it. But to be clear, I do not use Krotos software EVER.

Except the terms of what they posted SPECIFICALLY said it was to train AI. And now the terms are vague enough that they could still do it. Their terms most certainly do not say explicitly that they won't!

For an alternative to WeTransfer check out www.swisstransfer.com, free to use, up to 30 day links and 50GB uploads, with up to 250 downloads. And terms that clearly state they won't use the content or email addresses, and you don't even need to register for an account.

Well when you send a link to someone who is using WeTransfer, you're not sending them an encryption key, so for sure unless you are encrypting before uploading to WeTransfer, your data is not being encrypted.

I usually just live with the SM-Rec files to be honest. But what I do is as soon as I'm done in Radium, if I'm just going to keep those files, I drop into SM and do proper metadata, and the use UCS Build to do the filenames. Or I pull that material into ProTools to finish designing.
