A row of round roadside bollards in North Ormesby Market Place are covered with handmade festive yarn toppers. Closest to the camera is a knitted reindeer bollard cover with a bright red nose. Behind it is a red Santa-themed cover with a white beard and bobble hat. Further along are several dark brown Christmas pudding covers with white “icing” and holly decorations. The photos show the decorated bollards lined up across the paved square at night, with a lit Christmas tree and a building in the background.

We @womenslibrary.bsky.social are so sad to hear of the death of Elspeth King, writer, activist, curator of the People's Palace who fought so hard to collect & preserve Glasgow's social and working class histories. Her book 'The Hidden History Of Glasgow's Women: The THENEW Factor' is so important.
