Sorry -- the system says it should be available, but their website is just returning an authentication error when I try to access it

Actually, strike that. Although it says we have access, all the articles are behind a paywall . . .

I'm trying to show that "paradox", as used by many commentators on Wesley's hymns, suggests a fundamental incoherence in the christological language of his hymns. Against this, I argue that the pairing of apparent opposites qua nature is indeed what the hypostatic union allows 2/2

Sage Journals: Discover world-class research Subscription and open access journals from Sage, the world's leading independent academic publisher.

My article on Charles Wesley's christology is now available via early access. It's always odd to see an article appear which you wrote a few years ago; the critiques come across as a bit grumpy, but I think that argument still works overall.

I graduated in Sydney on a 40ยฐc day. Definitely did not wear a suit that day.

That said, open robes + suit work great here in Manchester.

The Running Novelist If I wanted to have a long life as a writer, I needed to find a way to stay in shape.

I really like Murakami's book about running. This little piece ends quite nicely: 33 was the age he started running, the age he started trying to make a living as a novelist. 33, "The age that Jesus Christ died" www.newyorker.com/magazine/200...

This reminds me of the time that I watched the first few movies back-to-back while editing a manuscript, realising with absolute horror that from Ripley's perspective those films all happen in the space of about one day.

I'll be having my eyes tested again soon, and think this is the likely outcome.
