I'm trying to show that "paradox", as used by many commentators on Wesley's hymns, suggests a fundamental incoherence in the christological language of his hymns. Against this, I argue that the pairing of apparent opposites qua nature is indeed what the hypostatic union allows 2/2
My article on Charles Wesley's christology is now available via early access. It's always odd to see an article appear which you wrote a few years ago; the critiques come across as a bit grumpy, but I think that argument still works overall.

This reminds me of the time that I watched the first few movies back-to-back while editing a manuscript, realising with absolute horror that from Ripley's perspective those films all happen in the space of about one day.
