I’m incredibly proud that #Worthing is leading the way on lowering carbon emissions through our pioneering Heat Network.

Yesterday I asked Martin McCluskey, Minister at the Dept. of Energy & Net Zero, to prioritise Worthing’s early designation as a Heat Network Zone.

Food and drinks high in fat, salt and sugar (HFSS) can no longer be advertised on TV before 9pm and at any time online 🍔🍩🍟

Labour has green-lit the first National Youth Strategy in 15 years - with over £500m of government investment

We want young people, whatever their background, to have the skills, opportunities and connections to thrive - empowering them to shape their own lives and communities💚

It’s good news that from today all young children will be offered protection against chickenpox on the NHS🌈

The vaccine will be combined with the MMR jab, given at 12 and 18 months to protect against measles, mumps and rubella.

Children up to the age of 6 can catch up on doses when invited✅

The government has today published its Animal Welfare Strategy, which will greatly increase protections for animals in the wild, on the farm and at home🦊 🐮 🐶

I'm proud that Labour's strategy will bring long overdue, once-in-a-generation improvements to animal welfare💯

I am extremely disappointed by the Planning Inspectorate’s decision to allow development of the site west of Bewley Road in Angmering.

While I accept the need for more housing, this ignores the wishes of residents and the democratic decision of Arun District Council.

I know this has come as a surprise but the decision to postpone the Sussex Mayoral elections until 2028 does make good sense ✅

By 2028 our Unitary Authorities will be in place and the good news is, Sussex and Brighton will still be getting an extra £38 million a year💷

Today is #WorldAIDSDay, in which we highlight the fight against the disease and remember those who have died from it.

The WHO is committed to its goal of ending AIDS by 2030. We must remain at the forefront of global efforts to reduce infections and ultimately eradicate it.

Great that govt will review the cases of 1000's of unpaid carers left in debt by confusing guidance on Carer's Allowance since 2015

This despite the vital work unpaid carers do, saving the UK economy £184 billion per year.

I'm extremely proud that this Labour government has scrapped the 2-child benefit cap, lifting 450,000 children out of poverty, including 1,350 here in #WorthingWest.

It will also help relieve the huge pressure on local foodbanks like our own amazing #WorthingFoodFoundation.

@AlexBallingerMP and I have been campaigning for changes to gambling tax for many months.

And so we’re delighted that the Budget will see an extra £1.1 billion raised from gambling duties by 2029-30 – with remote gaming duty to rise from 21 to 40 per cent in April💚
