Probably no one cares but one of my grandfathers was a Dermatologist and the other was a Safety Engineer who won a new car in 1966 by writing this slogan. “Fasten Your Seatbelt, Heaven Can Wait”
Put in a request for the library to purchase.
After we read our pirate novels we get together and sing sea shanties. He’s missing all the fun. 🏴☠️
He’s not wrong about the second sentence
C’mon people! This is nearly fully funded.
Just because his squirrel brain can’t focus for 30 seconds doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t. 🙄
And according to famous librarian Nancy Pearl, the older you are, the less you need to read before deciding to bail.
Having taken a completely different trail down the mountain. This was before cell phones. He was pissy with me the whole rest of the trip for sending help after him because “nothing could have possibly gone wrong”. I was just being “hysterical”.
One time I came down from a hike to the top of a mountain to find he was not at the bottom waiting for me. Scared me to death because I had not crossed paths with him anywhere. I alerted the park rangers who started to go up the trail looking for him. He eventually showed up.
This was on trails in the Adirondacks in the US. He was always laughing off my concerns like nothing could possibly happen.
I dated a guy who would regularly leave me behind on hikes because he was a much faster climber. I was always walking alone. I think back on how fucked up that truly was.
If you aren’t on the inside, you are the mark.
I’m scheduled to give. It’s easy and there are lots of locations. Look on the site for a donation location nearby
Many of y’all asked how you can support and donate to our female athletes and the celebrations,,, so I created a Go Fund Me. I’m hopeful this can have an impact beyond the weekend and help those that represent the best of the US

Are we going to set up a fund to make sure they all have transportation?
Shermer is well known in the Sceptic community and is the reason I won’t attend any CSICON events ever again. He’s an anti science misogynist creep. OSU should be ashamed for creating the Salmon P. Chase Center let alone inviting him and Ross Douthat to speak.
ICE is bad. Deportation is bad. Immigration restriction is almost always bad. Armed masked men going into homes without warrants is so obviously villainous that the fact anyone approves it is a stain that will haunt even generous histories of our nation ever after.
I am anti-ICE.
Lovely.
I’m constantly confused by what does and doesn’t count as a word.
“Why don’t we invite your friend over?” he suggests, testing the waters. “There’s nothing I love more than watching two women in sweatpants engaging in hot political discourse."
Thank you! I haven’t done embroidery for years.
Round embroidery hoop with an embroidered scene of a windmill, hills, trees, and flowers in shades of pink, yellow and green.
Things are pretty terrible but I finished a little embroidery today and it’s pretty cute.
Of course if I thought you were serious I’d have to unfollow you.
Bookish
Back when I worked for Ohio EPA I said “If I never see the inside of another sewage treatment plant it will be too soon”. I’d make an exception for these guys.
No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.
Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
It’s a half hour of pure respite from the news.
This absolutely boggles the mind.
More appalling, he’ll probably get elected.
