I think it's worth noting that Rep. Nosse, who represents arguably the most bike- and ped-friendly district, was the one to motion to adopt the amendment that will defund Safe Routes to School, off-road trails, and rail.
You can tune into the hearing now. SB 1601 is the last item on today's agenda: olis.oregonlegislature.gov/liz/mediapla...
It's a start! Thanks to the over 200 Oregonians who took action last week to testify or write to the governor's data center advisory council last week to make your voices heard! Because of your actions, we were able to win this 1.5 yr moratorium on data center tax breaks. https://loom.ly/6GqJ-Ko
And if you are thinking, what does this have to do with "judicial compensation?" I'm guessing it's been a quick and winding road to the -3 amendment. But if you look at Sections 16-20, you'll see this is the place for your multi-modal ire/opposition: olis.oregonlegislature.gov/liz/2026R1/D... 4/4
"More than 80% of Oregonians report using local trails, a higher percentage of Oregonians than those that drive... The Oregon Community Paths and Safe Routes to School program are already tragically underfunded, and people continue to die on our streets as a result." - OR Trails Coalition 3/4
Background: the $15 flat Bicycle Excise Tax was passed in 2017 under condition that it fund bicycle and pedestrian transportation projects. It has taken less than a decade for lobbyists and legislators to try to raid it. Don't let them. www.oregon.gov/dor/programs... 2/4
Just in time for tomorrow's Oregon Joint Subcomm on Capital Construction, let's oppose the transfer of bicycle tax revenue et al. from the Multimodal Active Transportation Fund to highway maintenance! @ortrailscoalition.bsky.social makes your testimony easy: mailchi.mp/oregontrails... 1/4
What?
And I ask this with my full heart, Tim.
The American people are sick and tired of endless wars built on false promises and paid for with innocent lives.
Congress must immediately pass Khanna-Massie War Powers Resolution.
As a queer woman from East PDX who has been unstably/unhoused for a chunk of my life, it has never occurred to me that I can wait for others to create a space in which I am seen, valued, or feel comfortable. I have seen your frustration over time, Tim. What are you hoping to achieve in this moment?
That's why we organize. Relentlessly.
It was an action-packed week for the Portland Planning Commission. I feel part of my charge as your Chair is this: make land use fun, and funny.
We obtained the Dilley detention centerβs 911 call logs.
Among them are pleas for help for toddlers having trouble breathing, a pregnant woman who passed out and an elementary-school-aged girl having seizures.

"A Hillsboro data center operated by social media company TikTok, for example, is saving $5.6 million this year through the enterprise zone program even though it has just 11 local employees. That works out to more than $500,000 in tax breaks for each worker." www.oregonlive.com/silicon-fore...
So excited for @evelynforbeaverton.bsky.social to be on Beaverton City Council! Honored to be a supporter.
βDesire lines are inherently subversive...They remind us that we have a choice, and that we can veer away from what was laid out for us.β Great reminder on Valentine's Day that we can make different choices. I desire high-speed rail and campaign finance reform. #bemyvalentine
I would like to thank the good Lord for Duolingo, which made my enjoyment of the Benito Bowl and all the commentary and reels since Sunday even more enjoyable. #estoyaprendiendoespaΓ±ol
Just left the Homelessness & Housing Committee meeting after repping the Planning Commission's unanimous approval of the Affordable Housing Opportunities Project. Outside, I had a great conversation with John, a Multnomah Safe Rest Village resident who has been serving as a valued volunteer. π
Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.
White. Hot. Rage.
What authority does ICE have to arrest or detain citizens who witnessed a homicide?
F*uck YES, Minnesota!

Agreed! My aunt used to live above the Sellwood Library, and she loved having "the biggest living room ever" just downstairs.
Costco's doing it! All the cool kids are, in fact.
We have 9 experienced, talented civic leaders on Planning Commission. I look forward to working with my colleagues to build the connective tissue between advisory bodies and Council policy, to support their leadership, and to value the time and thoughtfulness that community members share with us.
I'm honored to have been chosen last night by my colleagues to serve as Chair of Portland's Planning Commission for another year. We also chose our Youth Commissioner as one of our two Vice Chairs, which I believe is a first for our body.
Also⦠assuming the optimist in me is right and we can protect our neighbors to make it through this together, watch out future electeds:
Neighbors are more connected than ever before and will be even more powerful in our collective advocacy to make Minneapolis better for *all*
of us moving forward.
