"West Yorkshire's bus franchising is set to fix our broken bus services, but our district is sat at the back of the queue waiting in wave two with no confirmed date.
...And that's why fixing our buses now is part of the Green Party plan for real change for ordinary people."
Welcome to all our new members from across the Wakefield District bringing our numbers to over 700!
Hope is here π

In the Wakefield District, youth services have been depleted so badly there are no youth clubs left to go to.
Something that will help them feel confident and safe and together.
That's the Green Party plan for Real Change For Ordinary People.
On a dark green background with the title Real Change For Ordinary People quote n the Wakefield District, youth services have been depleted so badly there are no youth clubs left to go to. "Young people, children have got nowhere to gather together in a safe place. We need youth clubs in our local communities so that people can walk out of the door, 5 minutes down the road, meet their friends in a safe place, play pool, play darts, or whatever. Something that will help them feel confident and safe and together. Reform UK win by just 36 votes over the Green Party.
"The result in Peterborough reflects the conversations we're having here in the Wakefield District. The upcoming council elections are between the Greens and Reform.
Labour have failed. To keep Reform out of Wakefield in May, vote Green."
"Our Labour-run council seems completely disinterested in protecting tenants from rogue landlords - ignoring our calls for the introduction of a compulsory landlord register.
Nobody should have to put up with having a dodgy landlord."

Wakefield District Green Party is On The Renters Side
Weβre calling for compulsory licensing of private landlords.
We will push Vico Homes and other social housing providers to build more homes in the district.
And we will establish a council-run private lettings agency.
The future of Wakefield city centre is incredibly important to people and businesses across our district. Serious questions have to be asked about the judgement of our Labour-led council in their decision-making around the future of The Ridings Shopping Centre. Wakefield District Green Party calls for an independent Citizen and Business Commission to seriously examine the future of the city centre. This commission should be properly resourced and supported - and not just filled with Labour councillors and their cronies.
