My pride and joy! I've still got it, although I haven't played in years.

You in another decade.

True. I'm also suspicious that there's no link to any verifiable news story in the OP. This seems to be a feature of posts which start with "BREAKING: " to fool the reader that they're reading actual news - they often seem to be just personal opinions with no backup (i.e. bollocks).

Building the Meng King Tiger Part 1 YouTube video by Scalemodelmedic

In case there's anyone reading this who is where I was in 2023, then I recommend this series of seven videos, which introduced me to the basics of how to go beyond the kits' instruction manuals and achieve greater realism: www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG0p...

It's good start!

I didn't even know that chipping, gloss varnishing for decals etc, were things - so I didn't even have the vocabulary to let me start searching for ways to make my builds look better. "WIP" posts like yours would have given me valuable pointers. Thank you for doing them. I try to do the same. 2/

Definitely a "yes" vote from me, to showing working. I got back into model-building in 2023, not having done it since I was a lad in the mid-1980s, when I just followed the kit instructions - assemble and paint. So in 2022 I had absolutely no idea about any of the other techniques involved: 1/

Awesome weathering. The chipping down to decals has worked nicely.

Thank you. The manufacturer have a pretty good instruction video online, which helped with the basics. After that, it's been lots and lots of practice, on old plastic takeaway cartons, pieces from the spares stash, and one actual kit (all one colour), to get the hang of it all. Getting there.

This is undoubtedly war now, and attempts to call it something else, by Felon 47 and his administration, wore thin days ago. This is war, and to wage war, the approval of Congress is needed, else it's an illegal war.

If there are any counter-demos, I'm interested. Any legal, peaceful way to show that my home city doesn't support these xenophobic wankers.

Work in progress, #HistScaleModels - my first go at airbrushing a tricolour camouflage scheme, on a Panther kit received as a Christmas present. Zimmerit ridges have been highlighted with a dry brush. Next - gloss varnish, decals, gloss varnish, oil wash.

Felon 47 and his influencers, e.g. Thiel, don't want the federal government to concern itself with anything except controlling the military, law enforcement and ICE. It is entirely consistent with their philosophy to deliberately deny US citizens any sort of help, anywhere in the world.

For each wine, calculate (volume) ร— (alcohol percentage) รท (price). The one with the highest score is the best.

What was it that his lot have been saying to me since 2016? Ah, yes - you lost, get over it, and if you don't like British democracy you should emigrate.

Every cat should have its own theme tune, according to a friend of mine, and I can see the merit in this idea. Sometimes it takes a while to work out what that tune is, but eventually the Universe tells you the right one. These days, I'd feel a bit silly not singing "The Mervy Merv Song" to Merv.

Same here. Sometimes I'm not completely sure what a particular step will need, exactly - so it's pointless to make a detailed plan far in advance. Time enough to make plans when I know exactly what needs to be done.

It's amazing! Also - I'm glad to learn that I'm not the only person who sometimes doesn't have a concrete plan for how to execute a build task, right up until it's time to do it.

Very true. Although this could, possibly, be the start of a war that lasts for months or years, I doubt that it will be (I really hope it won't be). Felon47 can't keep a thought in his head for more than an hour or two. He'll bomb a load of civilians, claim victory, move to his next piece of chaos.

Shabana Mahmood, B.A. (Oxon), who worked as a barrister from 2003 to 2007, who attended a selective grammar school, and whose father worked as a civil engineer, is going to eliminate bourgeois thinking from the party. Hmmm.

28.02.2026 14:11 ๐Ÿ‘ 2 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Mahmood's anti-immigrant rhetoric was the final straw that made it impossible for me to stay in the Labour Party. I can now look my friends in the face again, without shame. Blue Labour are pissing all over the party's core support values of compassion and internationalism.

The FB feed algorithm has evolved so that it promotes conflict. If users are engaged, for any reason, they'll stay logged on, where their data can be mined, and they can be shown ads. It's easier to engage users by making them sad and angry than it is by making them happy, so that's what it does.

Fuck off and learn how to label your adult content as adult, so that people who don't want to see it don't have to see it. Thirteen year old kids are allowed to have BlueSky accounts.

And, like you, I don't think badly of people for building Axis kits (or modern Russian kits!). I think badly of people who see the Axis and modern Russia as role-models, rather than as warnings. I think everyone here at #HistScaleModels is a good sort. That's just my take on it, anyway. 4/4

27.02.2026 15:32 ๐Ÿ‘ 8 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

...any excuse to think that they're seeing any support for, or condonement of, the nazis and their modern-day descendants. I'll probably post pics of the Panther I'm building, when it's done, because I'm doing good work on it, and I'm learning. But I'm always happier posting my Allied models! 3/

... it hits home much more - and that's a good thing. I see the models I've built, and sometimes they make me incredibly sad. I'm satisfied that my motivation (learn history, enjoy crafting) isn't bad, so I'm not ashamed, but I am so wary about giving any bad actors out there on the Internet 2/

It's always a tough one. I know far more about Third Reich weaponry than many. When I was a kid, and I didn't have the compassion that I do now, I saw no problem at all with it, even though I was convinced that the Nazis were evil. As an adult, having seen more suffering in all walks of life, 1/

Portrayal doesn't equal support, but that truth can get lost once the portrayal is out there on the Internet, for anyone to copy and re-post. Since coming to BlueSky #HistScaleModels I've become much more reluctant to post pics of any WW2 German tank models I build - yet I've still built a couple.

I note that he doesn't say which constituency he'll stand in at the next GE. But I'm sure that, with his rock-solid Manchester roots and his deep loyalty and love for the people of Gorton and Denton, he will stand there again, and not ask Nige to let him stand in a more winnable seat daan saaf.
