One of the good things about my middle-school level of Spanish comprehension is I can have Bad Bunny on while I work and only catch snippets so I'm not too distracted 😆
I don't even know how to begin. One, why did he not want me to see?! He knows I'm very progressive and compassionate. And two, what the heck in general? How can he buy into the fear & filth from the TV blasting extremist news all day then turn around and do that at the pumpkin patch? I'm bamboozled.
But my dad literally tried to buy a gun last year because of the 'illegals' threatening his safety (in his white privledged neighborhood). He says trans people aren't real. He told me he'd 'never' hire someone with tattoos for his company.
The pumpkin picking place was cash only. My dad said the guy was new to town, didn't realize this, and said the people were rude and told him to leave. So my dad gave him money to get pumpkins. Normal nice guy behavior of my dad, right?
I don't hear the convo and I walk away. 20 minutes later, this guy comes back and hands my dad some 'change'. I said DAD what just happened? He said, you weren't supposed to see that.
My dad, who's been sucked down a rabbit hole of red, did something wild yesterday. We're at a pumpkin patch with my young daughters, and a young tattooed person approached my dad. They start chatting.
It's magic.
I’m coloring a page of a beautiful pony and doing her mane rainbow, really in my zone. My four-year-old then asks if she can finish up my pretty picture for me. I gently smiled, covered the twitches in my face said, of course honey, I’d love that. I deserve mother of the year award, please clap.
Feeling this cold today
I can't quite figure this out either yet. Maybe I'm just used to the noise of other platforms, haha.
I'm really trying to embrace the season I'm in. Literally. Like I don't need to go to a beach right now, I'm OK with winter. I want to travel to winter destinations. Later this year, I'll be ready for palm trees. It makes the most sense instead of trying to escape the heat/cold all the time, right?
My top 5 places for winter fun:
❄️Chamonix, France
❄️New England, USA (New Hampshire/Conway specifically)
❄️Park City, Utah (don't cross those picket lines!)
❄️Kayseri, Turkey
❄️Iceland
Dream future places? Winter in Japan and Finland someday!
I’m just happy to be here.
