The Common Council’s Jack Hopkins Social Services Funding Committee is now accepting applications. Funding will support local agencies addressing urgent social service needs in the community. Apply at bton.in/JHG2026 before 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
This shift allows for enhanced parklets with updated design and accessibility standards, continued support for major downtown festivals, targeted small-scale activations in partnership with businesses, and preparation for a comprehensive Kirkwood Corridor Study in 2027.
This decision focused primarily on corridor performance and participation levels in the Kirkwood outdoor dining program. The program has supported well-attended festivals but did not generate consistent daily activation across the broader business district.
