If we add more women to the pregnancy, can we read the mythical man month in less time?

I recently started using Claude Code and have been so delighted at the light-hearted way it shows the wait cursor, it reminds me of SimCity's old "reticulating splines" loading screen. I miss the days when it was common to see simple silliness like this in software UX.
Boomers to 20 yr old me: You'll become more conservative in your 40s. I miss being able to see what people actually thought by reading words they actually wrote.

I made a really simple free web site that lets you braindump what you want out of a recipe (ingredients, preferences, things you don't want, a preferred chef/site, etc), and it returns a list of links that meet your criteria: foodecide.com
no I have not!! fantastic find.
My eyes now twitch whenever I read βBut hereβs the thing:β

Found this incredible plate for my collection while walking my dogs this morning, which reminded me of the time my then 10 year old told me βSpaceballs is *way* funnier than Airplane, momβ¦ he drank coffee through his helmet! *Through his helmet*, mom.β
Let me tell you a tale of how completely the normies have been mobilized. My 14 year-old niece has done School of Rock for the past 5 years; last summer she was part of their touring band, and the kids loved playing together so much that they decided to keep doing it. (1/?)
Well since I made it and therefore I can change it to do whatever I want, very well ;-)
TIL about chowdown - love your pricing approach (and PWAs FTW!)
Renoirβs βtwo sistersβ painting at the art institute of Chicago
My lifelong favorite has always been Renoirβs Two Sisters, which I last got to see when I was there in 2019. The art institute has soooooo many amazing pieces.

I am a teensie bit annoyed at myself that I didnβt come up with this quip myself π
100% agree - the first couple of episodes were a bit wonky but ohhhhh itβs gotten gooooooood. The only ever trek I really got into was TNG (and I remember TOS fans saying TNG sucked), and I am loving SFA.

100% real, I just took that screenshot myself a couple of minutes ago. I was trying to find a post Iβd made on fb years ago.

As a teen who read a lot, I loved Heinleinβs work and started working my way through every book on the library.
Then I read βFridayβ andβ¦ andβ¦ I was probably already past my feminist awakening by that point for other reasons, but I think thatβs when the *rage* started.
ohhhh that was a looooong time ago yes π. FWIW the box set on thegamecrafter.com is sold at cost. But what I lose in that, i'll make it up in volume! oh, wait...
do you mean of bedlam? When I created the online version last year, I did a refresh of the physical box set as well so that it matched, because I made a *lot* of improvements to the card text as part of creating the online version.

A changelog for an application, updated on Feb-04-26, detailing feature updates. The Feb-04 update introduces prompts to save frequently logged items as meals or routines, or update an already saved meal/routine with new values. The Feb-03 update describes smart detection for referencing similar past food entries you've logged such as "another tilapia fillet like I had the other day" <alt text generated by AI: https://alttexter.lovable.app/>
JFYI if you're using it, I pushed out a couple new features today: logactually.com/changelog.
(Very intentionally *not* adding notifications or annoying behavior within the app when there's something new, but at the same time it's so danged *fun* to share the latest and greatest in a release...)
for now, itβs only costing me pennies for the hosting & AI credits, and I use it daily myself so itβs very simple to just eat the minimal costs of it and also make it available to others. Now if 10k DAU showed up all of a sudden that would change the calculus π but i could also make it open source
βI hope this email finds youβ
