I recently started using Claude Code and have been so delighted at the light-hearted way it shows the wait cursor, it reminds me of SimCity's old "reticulating splines" loading screen. I miss the days when it was common to see simple silliness like this in software UX.

100% agree - the first couple of episodes were a bit wonky but ohhhhh it’s gotten gooooooood. The only ever trek I really got into was TNG (and I remember TOS fans saying TNG sucked), and I am loving SFA.

for now, it’s only costing me pennies for the hosting & AI credits, and I use it daily myself so it’s very simple to just eat the minimal costs of it and also make it available to others. Now if 10k DAU showed up all of a sudden that would change the calculus 😆 but i could also make it open source
