The Source itself as far as the road bridge at Kemble will be accessible but maybe a little squidgy in places. Beyond Kemble to Ewen & Ashton Keynes I canβt say Iβm afraid. Weβve had a decent amount of dry weather over the last week or so, so Iβd expect the path to be muddy but passable.

It's taken forever but at last I've finished writing my blogs on the 360+ mile Great Chalk Way that I walked last spring & summer from Lyme Regis to Holme-next-the-Sea.

I was reminded by @andysin33.bsky.social that you're not finished the full 232 miles #ThamesPath Source to Sea until the water laps your feet at Grain Beach. So, even though I reached Grain a couple of weeks ago with @keld16.bsky.social , today I went back & well & truly completed the trail π€£

Thanks a lot Andy. A round half dozen is DEFINITELY enough. I have my eyes on more coastal walks for 2026. I'm resuming the GCW on Monday. Having to do out of sequence as my sister & I still haven't been able to fix a date for the last leg of The Ridgeway

The Flying Archaeologist - 4. The Thames: Secret War
Ben Robinson flies over the Thames to reveal discoveries about WWI, including a network of trenches on the Hoo peninsula near the former Chattenden Barracks.
I found this programme from 2013 today on iPlayer regarding the Hoo Peninsula in the Thames Estuary. It should be of particular interest to anyone who has or is planning on walking the England Coast Path extension of the Thames @thamespathnt.bsky.social www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...
