The other two people in the challenge picked Bazzite and CachyOS and both experienced minimal issues.

But neither of these distros came as the top recommendation in the research that someone who is new to Linux would do!!

He also discussed it on his podcast, he specifically didn't want to pick what could be perceived as the 'flavor of the month' distro.

Bazzite came highly recommended around the time I was swapping, and it's what I'm using, but now it's CachyOS that everyone is recommending.

It's exposing one of the biggest issues with the 'year of the Linux desktop,' distro selection.

I made the same mistake he did my first time around last year before I settled on a gaming centric distro, trusting the search results you get from Google.

It's really cathartic watching all of the cope coming from Linus's latest Linux gaming video.
