I’m not claiming the language of the amendment is perfect either, but that’s exactly the point, this isn’t what we’re supposed to be spending time on.
Our local Council shouldn’t be tasked with perfecting the subtleties of how we condemn terrorist groups, let’s leave that to people qualified and tasked with doing that. It causes needless division in our community, that I think we are likely to get wrong. We have important work to focus on here.
Hi Ben, I’m glad the Council did include that condemnation you mention on the right, but their did vote down a condemnation of Hamas as a part of the lasting peace section (the proposed amendment to do that indeed failed 5-6). But please read my overall point that the root of this problem is that:
