I was pointing to a way tackle it. On AI - there is no going back. Just like with the steam engine, machinery in agriculture, etc. I don't get the toxic attitude. I guess you like the Twitter culture. Fine. Blocked.

For perspective, the federal service has not increased much in absolute numbers since 2000 and is actually down from the mid-1970s. Share of the total workforce has actually decreased steadily. And, basically offset by contractors. So, it's really largely a privatized government already.

How did Mark become the bad guy on this? The emotional responses are understandable but not helpful. We are just in the beginning of this transformation but it's moving fast. Citizens ought to work with elected officials to reshape the relationship between capital and labor/citizens. Time is short.

Tesla fourth-quarter results miss estimates as automotive revenue drops 8% Tesla reported weaker-than-expected earnings and revenue for the quarter that ended in December.

Tesla probably started a slow decline. Musk killing the brand and antagonizing primary market segment. It's even worse than bottom line numbers since about 25% of net income is appreciation of bitcoin. www.cnbc.com/2025/01/29/t...

I really enjoyed "1000 Years of Joys and Sorrows" by Ai Weiwei. It put the fundamental weakness of China on display.

You seem to be nice guy. But you are quoting Xi? Are you just drunk on the cool aid or intellectually subservient? It’s silly. If you want to argue for the Chinese system, you can do better than quoting Xi. The capitalism you’re talking about can be gone in a heartbeat. Marxism comes first.

Why are you making it abt BYD v Tesla/Musk? Don’t hold back on the latter. Share bad stories! I am not a fan. My point is that it’s not a choice between BYD or Tesla - there are options. I would never buy a Chinese car. Period. My conscience, my choice.

What do you mean? What about US factories? Plenty of other EV options than Chinese cars. Many in Europe and other Asian countries. I am hoping for Alfa Giulia EV.

Nah - better stay clear of BYD. Slave like conditions in Brazil factory, environmental issues at other factories, etc. And it doesn’t make a whole sense if you are concerned with Tesla being a Nazi mobile. China is a totalitarian regime.

Blue states should setup a Dept of Education when Musk close it down. The states need coordination on education and resources. Just recruit a good share of current staff. DC will be helpful to get office space. That will make it easy to resurrect it fully down the road.

American oil production is forecasted to plateau over the next 2 years.

(That’s because producers don’t want to outpace demand, not because they need to be β€˜unleashed’.)

we learn from it. Looks like using models to train a model. More analysis to figure out if any side effects. But that’s not the issue here - you went for a false equivalence. Why go after a US AI company there? I am no fan of OpenAI or Altman, but it just doesn’t make sense.

1. That was the beginning. Final para below. And it would have been labeled and insurrection if the GOP and/or Biden’s DOJ would have done their job.
2. China has a lot of innovation. That is not the issue. This seems to have been trained cheaper. It’s important and we will study it. Hopefully

The post by Kelsey a bit silly. But the comments to his post are disturbing. Why this sympathy for the totalitarian Chinese regime? Many conversations on Bluesky on this subject turn to into false equivalencies.
