PRECIOUS BABEH!
Me, a white person with wavy brown hair, standing in front of the entrance to the Beverly Hills Public Library
A view of the inside of the Beverly Hills Public Library, showing multiple archways, staircases, and red stools. And bookcases.
My hand holding a library copy of Shattered Silence by Melissa G Moore, one of the books I narrated. The audiobooks is now a finalist for the 2026 SOVAS Award in Outstanding Audiobook Narration - Biography.
Did I fly across the country to Beverly Hills today? Yes I did.
Did I spend part of my day at the Beverly Hills Public Library, because Iβm both an introvert and a nerd? Yup.
Did I also happen to find the print version of an audiobook I narrated thatβs up for a major award tomorrow? Also yes. :)
Is it weird that I just realized that my hotel in LA is right next to the public library? Itβs probably weird β¦ π πͺ± π€©

Up waayyyyyy too early to fly to LA for the SOVAS awards. But here and happy and sooo looking forward to hanging with friends and celebrating the world of voice acting. :)
If you're a writer, wondering why you should bother writing with the world on fire. It feels like it's not important, I need you to understand that it is.
Even if it is just because it keeps you moving forward? Even if it only brings YOU joy, that gives you energy to fight & survive.
Here I am in the booth, narrating this super tense scene, super into it, feeling like I'm on my A-game when ...
The neighbor's car alarm goes off.
Ughghghghghhhhh

If you or someone you love has been recently diagnosed with cancer, I canβt recommend this resource enough, ESPECIALLY if youβre in the age range this book is intended for (18-49).
I canβt say enough good things about it, and I am so, sooo honored to have narrated it.
This book tackles the shock of diagnosis, toxic positivity, side effects, fertility, recovery, and even end of life planning β¦ and the resources section is basically a whoβs who of cancer charities.
I had the uncanny feeling that this author had reached inside my brain, combed my memories and experiences around my diagnosis, and put them on the page. Thatβs how close my experiences mirrored the ones Cristina talks about in detail.
As I prepped this manuscript for narration, I was constantly FLOORED by how much this author knew about the specific experiences that young/early adults have in the cancer space. Weβre a rare bunch (less than 4% of cancer patients are in the young/early adult age range). Itβs normal to feel alone.
About two weeks ago, what is EASILY the most important book that Iβve narrated to date released.
That book is COPING WITH CANCER IN EARLY ADULTHOOD by Cristina Pozo-Kaderman and Saul Wisnia, out from @simonandschuster.bsky.social
This is the resource I wish existed when I was diagnosed.

It was!! And my social anxiety does sooo much better at these chill events where we get to just talk and visit with each other. You can actually get to know industry people, rather than the barely 5-minute conversations that are the norm at the big industry conference.
I chose the campfire, had sooo many wonderful conversations with old friends and new, and with mentors whoβve turned into friends.
Suffice it to say, I loved it. :)
NENR was basically four days tucked in the woods, attending workshops and coaching sessions with experienced industry pros (I got to coach with the incredibly gracious Paul Allen Ruben and super cool human Peter Berkrot).
The evenings are spent either doing karaoke or hanging around a campfire. :)
A ton of socially awkward narrators, producers, and casting directors stare up at a camera, trying to remember to smile whilst also questioning if they have something stuck in their teeth.
Meant to post this earlier!
Narrators spent most of our time working alone, so when we actually get together, itβs like a big group hug.
Here is my latest βgroup hugβ (aka group pic) on the last day of Johnny Hellerβs New England Narrator Retreat.
The cover to INSIDE THREAT, a green mossy book with ruins and archways over a woman's figure.
INSIDE THREAT is coming!
The sixth Rachel Peng book follows our heroine as she goes to New Orleans, finds domestic terrorists, accidentally adopts a dog, and gets extremely drunk with a sexy arms dealer. Also, murder.

Also, also, yay! And congrats!
Nom nom nom!
Attending the New England Narrator Retreat this week! Eeek! So excited to see old friends and make new ones!
