1989 I would say, after the full weekday split (1988 was weekends only IIRC)?
A set of 14 Capital Gold photocards. They are landscape in format and feature the original Capital Gold logo of a stylised jukebox. The DJs featured are Tony Blackburn, Martin Buchanan, Paul Burnett, Dave Cash, Stuart Colman, Graham Dene, Mike Dickin, Kenny Everett, Paul Gambaccini, David Hamilton, Randall Lee Rose, David Symonds, Sarah Ward and Peter Young
The photocards in a clear bag with the words βThe Capital Bagβ printed on it
I knew I had a set of the original Capital Gold photocards somewhere and today they turned up in box I hadnβt opened in years - as a bonus, they are still in the Capital bag from when I bought them at Euston Tower!

CAPITAL RADIE 194 IS SELECTIVE Research shows that radio can be highly selective. Capital's 5 million listeners cover the complete spectrum of target groups, offering the advertiser a unique opportunity to select his own particular audience. It is possible to reach very different audiences by buying different airtime segments. Capital's Research Department can help advertisers accurately select the most appropriate airtime to reach their target audience through the new Capital computer terminal.
AND IMMEDIATE Radio is immediate. An advertising message can reach Londoners faster on radio than on any other medium. Advertisers simply call our Sales Department to book their commercial and it can be on air within hours. We can help you select the right studio to script and produce commercials and we have our own studio facilities for those advertisers who require them. That's the way we did it for Laker Airways who used Capital's immediacy to advertise seat availability on their Skytrain service to Los Angeles. The commercial was on air in less than two hours. That's immediacy!
CAPITAL RADIC 194 IS TACTICAL Radio offers unique tactical advantages. Because Capital is on air throughout the day and night every day of the week, advertising messages can be planned to reach the right audience at the right time. Radio enables you, for example, to advertise toiletries to listeners in the bathroom; cereals to families at breakfast time; groceries to housewives about to go shopping; automotive products to motorists in their cars.
AND PERSONAL Radio is an extremely personal medium. Capital's presenters talk to their listeners on a person to person basis and form a close relationship with them The station's involvement with listeners is both close and practical. In its three years of operation, Capital Helpline - London's only 24 hour telephone advice and referral service - has handled over 225,000 calls from Londoners requiring help or information. In a single year, the Capital Job Finder service found jobs for over 2,500 unemployed young Londoners. The station is closely involved with its listeners at many levels - playing their requests, talking to them on the phone, helping them to find homes or jobs and advising them on education opportunities, examination revision and versonal oroblems. This environment provides credibility for advertisers and an ideal communication link with the listeners.

I have a few of these! But not a full set⦠That version of the logo places it between around 1976-78, I would say!

Capital Radio Gemini Zodiac badge. (Year?) I believe there was one for every star sign?
A brightly coloured poster with cartoon heads of Kenny Everett and Dave Cash sticking out of brown egg cups that are sitting on a blue and white chequered tablecloth.
Kenny and Cash for Breakfast, a show which started in January 1974 as the station responded to lower than expected listening figures in its first two months. This poster, one of a set of six, was produced by Mick Greenslade in a pop-art style.
A brown envelope with a blue and white label on it. On the left hand (blue) section of the label are written the words Capital Radio in red in a block serif typeface. Underneath is written (in white) 539m 95.8 VHF In tune with London.
Some quality 1974 Capital postage label and franking machine action!
