...who dress like cowboys!
We also seem to also have a growing fetish for candidates with military experience? How many Navy Seals do we need? I don't think it used to be like this.

DJ Shadow - Six Days

At the starting of the week
At summit talks you'll hear them speak
It's only Monday
Negotiations breaking down
See those leaders start to frown
It's sword and gun day

Black and white photo of Marjane Satrapi with the quote: "The world is not divided between East and West. You are American. I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same."
Once again.
You can bomb the world to pieces, but you can't bomb it into peace.

A2: I think many parks could benefit from a more robust public transportation system. We force everyone into cars and then complain about the traffic and parking? We're going to end up there eventually, let's be thoughtful about how to make it delightful. Imagine the possibilities!

A great shot of an icon
Thanks again for posting the recipe - it was a fun project!
OK, I made them tonight! I admit I hand-waived the recipe, but I used a savory pastry crust and individual servings. Turned out great - started off a little soupy, might pull back the sauce volume on the next one. Delicious!
Every time I hear this Chrissie Hynde cover of Nick Drakeβs River Man I swoon. Her voice sounds so luscious on this album!

When GG smiles he looks like heβs about to eat a baby.
It was filmed over two nights at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood, a gorgeous and glamorous art deco-era icon. Very "old Hollywood."
I don't remember at the time knowing that they were making a film, but of course they were filming everything at that time. It was a very exciting show for TH fans!
Small fruit pies baked in soufffle ramekins with a crispy pastry top
This looks great! Iβve been playing with some pot pie fruit pies, this is clearly where to go next :) Could be single servings!
Soggy waterlogged bald eagle that was rescued by a Canadian man
Love it! I was in the audience π

I'm a huge DJ Shadow fan, he's the GOAT for pulling pieces and putting together new, original music. But this piece, from 10 years ago with Run The Jewels, more accurately predicted the Trump political era than any TV pundits. Eerily prescient.

Pretty! There's a nice garden in Encinitas as well - we were there in December and there was so much in bloom!
Just saw her earlier this month! It was really fun, and she was amazing. She exudes joy.

The amazing kestrel is capable of remaining almost motionless in the air, stabilizing itself by adjusting the position of its wings and tail according to the wind and air currents.

I donβt know who needs to hear Jesse Jackson leading the kids on Sesame Street in this beautiful call-and-response reminding them that every child is somebody, but here it is

What a great photo of Brazilian alpine skier Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, the first South American to ever win a medal at the Winter Olympic Games.
