Turn around drawing of Vectorman, a robot made of hovering balls of various sizes. Ink on paper.
VERY old drawing I did as a guide for marketing materials for the Sega Genesis game Vectorman.
Interesting Question! It very well could be.
But here's an even more intriguing question for you: Did Outlaws hide some early concept art of Queen Amidala two years before The Phantom Menace?
I'm adding all the Casio Rom Pack dumps I've found so far to MAME and, while at it, I've also updated the list of cartridges that still need to be preserved.
Since I first published that list, more than half of them have already been dumped! 😀

Estoy añadiendo al MAME todos los volcados de Casio Rom Pack que me he encontrado y, ya de paso, he actualizado la lista de cartuchos que aún necesitan ser preservados.
¡Desde que la publiqué ya se han volcado más de la mitad! 😀

I am delighted to announce the release of my latest project:
Fully documented source code for The Sentinel, Geoff Crammond’s 1986 masterpiece.
Here’s the repository; deep dives coming soon.

Many years ago I went on a search for the creator of the 1982 arcade game BurgerTime. I located him as part of my own research project that unfortunately was postponed. His name is Yuji Gondo. Here is a list of games designed by Mr. Gondo presented here for the first time as part of my research. A🧵

🚨 From this ROM dump, the community has assembled a working development build of the unreleased port of Popils for the NES. More unfolding live!

Spent some fun time the last few weeks getting some old NES source code of Police Academy back into a compliable state. Fun dive into the the early 90s development system and all that stuff.
Code and instructions on how to build it I wrote are released today by

Two unreleased Sega Game Gear games in early/unfinished state: "Prime" (1994) and "The World of Sport: Golf" (1993). Provided and recovered by @gamehistoryorg.bsky.social team, analyzed/patched by smspower team): www.smspower.org/forums/20713
Copyright screen for The World of Sport: Golf, for Game Gear. It is offset towards the upper left, so there is a large black border and a lot of the text is cut off. I assume this reads: Demo Version For TENGEN Developped [sic] by Atreid Concept 1993
Title screen of The World of Sport: Golf. A man in a blue polo shirt appears to be chipping his ball out of an unseen sand trap, as there is a spray of sand coming from below the screen. His ball in flight makes up the letter O in Golf.
In-game shot of The World of Sport: Golf. The golfer, wearing a red polo and matching hat, tees off at the unnamed course. The game is 3D projected using crude polygons, but appears to also draw a grass texture on the polygons to some degree, with scaled sprite trees placed just off the fairway and a cloudy blue sky. The status bar, largely brown, shows remaining distance to the flag, ball lie, an icon of the selected club, and a corrupted portion that might have been intended to show wind.
Today's @gamehistoryorg.bsky.social ROM dumping live stream comes with a prototype of an unreleased, unannounced(?) Game Gear golf game from Tengen and Atreid Concept - The World of Sport: GOLF!
Aiming, swinging, and club selection seem to work but putting does not. May bear further investigation.
Aquí tenéis el directo con el prototipo del Jammin', muy posiblemente el primer videojuego de ritmo de la historia, creado por Atari y recién preservado y emulado por Dutchman2000 y MameHaze! youtube.com/live/z9Ks-il...
There is SO much high-resolution Metal Gear Solid art in this collection
(from CD 193 archive.gamehistory.org/item/8a5db5f...)
We've added 100 new CDs to our collection of press CDs from GamePro magazine, with thousands of pieces of game art, screenshots, and more
So, what's the GamePro press CD collection? We put together an explainer
Still need more baseball?
We found a CD in our archives containing dozens of unused voice lines from MLB Slugfest 20-03 rejected by the MLB. Here's some of our favorites.
Last month at PRGE, we held a reunion panel with Nintendo employees who launched the NES. Hear from Bruce Lowry, Gail Tilden, and Lance Barr about how the scrappy staff at NOA defied all odds and released one of the most iconic game systems ever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2WDfsiLiRA
Space Invaders – The Original Game by Taito for the Super Famicom has been scanned in high resolution. Enjoy! www.gamingalexandria.com/wp/2025/11/s...
So far I haven't seen anyone point out, via a Google search even, a deep-cut joke in the Super Mario RPG remake: www.gamespot.com/articles/sup...
On SNES, the 6 hint notes were attributed to Magellan, DeGama, and Van Doren (2 each).
In the remake, the note authors are different... 🧵
I'm proud to share that I've 3D scanned a complete set of Mysterious Mario Bros. keshi (怪奇マリオブラザーズ), a line of 10 keshi gomu rubber figures depicting monstrous-looking versions of characters from the original Super Mario Bros.

Thrilled to announce the release of scans for the entire run of Technopolis! Read about the history of this Japanese computer gaming magazine written by @ftb1979.bsky.social and download/view the scans. Enjoy and please RT to help spread the word. www.gamingalexandria.com/wp/2025/09/t...
Two well-known voice clips from Super Mario Sunshine are Mario saying "Aren't I done yet?!" and "There's more?!" in an exasperated way, long presumed unused. However, there is actually a way to hear them in-game, as they have a chance to play when he enters a level at low health.
Today I'm releasing an early prototype of Nintendo's "Joy Mech Fight" (FC), from over a year before its release! This build, then named "Battle Battle League" (FDS), was created for the 1992 Nintendo-Dentsu Game Seminar. Links are below!

Super Smash Bros. contains a sneaky "delayed action" anti-piracy measure to lull the illegitimate user into a false sense of security. The game will be normal the first 68 times it is launched. Starting with the 69th time, however, every selected character will turn into Mario.
Today's 3D scanned keshi is God Bomber, from the unreleased (!) Virtual Boy game Virtual Bomberman!
A keshi figure for a game that never came out is pretty unusual, isn't it? In fact, I think this is the only one I've ever encountered!
Download the scan here: archive.org/details/kesh...
If your placeholder assets aren't clearly placeholders, you'll forget to replace them
Back in ~1999, the art director for some dollhouse game made a temporary diamond-shaped model for their character UI. By the time he realized they hadn't replaced it, it was too late and it shipped as-is. Oops!
Speaking of the st.5 boss, here he is in prototype form, from when the player characters were the Slugs & you had a 5pt health bar. The vast majority of the prototype images out there don't have the health bars.
No idea if these are earlier or later revisions though
