I've been hearing about whistles for months. They've been up for grabs at bookstores, bars, coffee shops. I know so many people who've taken bystander trainings starting as much as a year ago. The Cities were able to roll up their sleeves and jump to because we didn't wait for the crisis to start.

I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

I’d argue that I’m older than ICE so it doesn’t need to exist at all but especially now, if people like Enrique Tarrio can join, we need to burn it down altogether.

I think maybe if we stopped saying “ICE” and started saying “Trump’s secret police force,” Democrats would see how absolutely absurd their response has been. It cannot be reformed. Abolish Trump’s secret police force. Abolish ICE.

Any politician whose response to their state being invaded by a federal force is "be peaceful and vote" better be ready to be voted out if elections ever happen again. People are out en masse to protect their families and neighbors. The Dems are catastrophically refusing to meet the moment.

Elected officials have to stop posting like bystanders who have no power.

If she’s our “English teacher” why doesn’t she know about white flight? Why didn’t she consider how using AAVE would come across? She’s written about s*x before. Did she think he wouldn’t get metaphor aka her favorite thing? Is real love really just hiding yourself for a ring? Is that the lesson?

On the other hand I get wanting a light, fun album. She’s finally ~in love~. Then why waste time on at least two different diss songs? Why not make it about what makes the relationship so great other than his d*ck??? Reputation was great because it balanced levity and fun with real life worries.

It could’ve been such an impactful album. Imagine how “I protect the family” could’ve been taken if it was about defending queer+trans folk. Imagine how eldest daughter could’ve been about the weight of being a woman right now in this climate. Instead we got a sh*tty album with bad AAVE.

I found out my hidden album deleted all of my ~spicy~ pictures pre-this year so now I’m thinking about reaching out to my exes like “Look I know you still have the pics and I’m not mad. I just want you to send them to me for archival reasons to show how I wasted my hot years on y’all.”
