A World of Inspiration
This will be a great Womenβs Day Event at Bushop Auckland Town Hall. I interviewed Chinwe Russell a few years ago and found her fascinating. bishopaucklandtownhall.org.uk/bishoppost/a...

My partner of 35 years and I have never bought each other Valentine cards or presents. However, the last few years we have been out to dinner as we have found some great deals.

Heard Brian speak at Leeds Literature Festival. Struck me that our country would have been very different if the centre of power had stayed in the North as it was once.

Kotu Creek | Birdingplaces
Within walking distance of the hotels on the Kotu strip, this is an area where a wide variety of birdlife can be found and where you find excellent bird guides..
My Gambian high point: bird watching at Kotu Creek. Easily accessible for tourists and community (rice fields & vegetable patches). In recent weeks a wall has started to be built, any development would be disastrous for wildlife, ecotourism and local people. Tourism ministry email:

Lives Less Ordinary - Two Temple Place
Two Temple Place, one of Londonβs hidden architectural gems, hosts exhibitions and events and is owned by the charity The Bulldog Trust.
Discovered a great gallery space and amazing exhibition. Lives Less Ordinary has gathered art by working class artists from small regional collections and displayed the diverse display in the beautiful surrounding of Two Temple Place. See it if you can. twotempleplace.org/exhibitions/...

Of course you can! Try doing a thousand words a day. I have found that quite manageable - should even leave some time for editing

We need more aqua aerobics classes. Wherever I go they are over subscribed. Men often miss out as the women seem to be better at booking as soon as they go online.

Drake the Bookshop in Stockton is good, they are part of the Crossing the Tees book / library festival in mid June. Truman Books in Farsley Leeds run a local literature festival in the autumn. There is also Holdfast, a bookshop on a barge in Leeds Dock.

No 10 blocks beaver release plan as officials view it as βTory legacyβ
Exclusive: Natural England furious that years of work has been undone, with minister urged to push policy through
Very occasionally the last government did something good. A real shame that plans to allow the release of beavers on private land have been blocked. Hope the government will reconsider this. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

What on earth do people take? I recently booked one 20kg case between two of us for a 10 day holiday. When I put it on the scales it was only 16kg despite having included 2kg of books for a local library.

UK Rail Sale Starts tomorrow. From 14 to 20 January some fares will go on sale at up to 50% off for travel between 17 January and 31 March. All companies included except except Hull Trains, Lumo, Merseyrail and Translink Northern Ireland but many donβt seem to be promoting the sale.

Great to see Bradford being recognised for its great culture. The opening event looked amazing despite the cold. But shocked by the negative, racist comments on other social media, including some fake child abuse posts.
