The Colonization of Confidence., Sightless Scribbles A fabulously gay blind author.

"The Colonization of Confidence" by Robert Kingett is one of the best pieces of writing about "AI" I have ever seen. Read it over lunch and it literally made me cry in the restaurant.

We agreed that it was important to explicitly address the political climate Weird Pride Day is taking place in this year.

Weird Pride is a celebration, but also, always, an act of defiance - perhaps now more than ever.

Credit to David @neurohubcommunity.org for suggesting this.

#StayWeird, folks.

Vestibular disorders affect people's balance as well as their visual perception of their world around them. Don't make animations, sliders, videos, or rapid movement start automatically, as autoplaying elements could trigger a bad reaction in people who have vestibular disorders.

The AI that we’ll have after AI Cheap GPUs, unemployed engineers, and open source models.

β€œTo recoup their existing and announced investments, AI companies will have to bring inΒ $2 trillion, more than the combined revenue of Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia and Meta.

β€œAnd they have to bring in that $2 trillion before all those GPUs burn out…which is, again, about 2–3 years.”

Hi everyone, it looks like I ran out of time. I have so many dreams that I wanted to fulfill and plans to create new stories for you. As a kid riddled with insecurity and internalized ableism, I could not see a path forward. It was thanks to friendships and some great teachers who believed in me that I was able to fight my way out of miserable situations into a place where I finally felt comfortable in my skin. We need more stories about us and our culture. You all, we all, deserve the everything and more in such a hostile, ableist environment. Our wisdom is incisive and unflinching. I'm honored to be your ancestor and believe disabled oracles like us will light the way to the future. Don't let the bastards grind you down. I love you all."
