I don't know whether to feel silly for not knowing it was part if the vanilla outfit, bad for not recognizing it as being a technically different ribbon, or glad that I still bumbled my way into a happy coincidence π
I just didn't see her usual neck ribbon, so assumed she moved it for that outfit!
Vespyria converses with the viewer.
She's going to drive me insane with how cute she is. The little smile makes me melt.
The absolute prettiest (and I love the detail of her blue ribbon tied around her arm) π
Kazimiera standing in front of a short stone railing in the Mist, leaning forward slightly to rest her hands on top as she turns her head back towards the camera. She is wearing pale blue lingerie consisting of a lace bra, stockings, and I promise there is a thong hiding in there somewhere. There is. You're just going to have to take my word for it. Mostly, however, there is just butt. Anyway she is outrageously pretty and I think we should all appreciate that.
Tax season sometimes means self-indulgent blorbo therapy, so when I was specifically asked to make "a kASS pose," once my exhausted brain processed what the request actually was, I self-indulged in some blorbo therapy.

(The "reveal" moment is definitely one of the higher-priority story-pose items for Kass... eventually. I'm sure everyone will handle it very normally.)
My favorite gal.
If anyone is curious how the IRS is doing these days, a client just received a letter that they accepted his amended return... that was filed in October 2023.
Irie in a high collar hunting top with faux fur on her shoulder. Her head is turned into the fur close to her left shoulder, her mouth not visible. It's early evening as her horn deco and eyes glow in the din. Small flecks of rainbow flicker out across the image
A close up of the same outfit, pose, and location, now with the high collar pushed down to show her smile. She eyes the camera as her right hand rises to rest across her covered collarbones

In all (moderate) seriousness, I think Urianger is the first to suspect that Kass is not actually from the Source, likely as early as 3.x when the Warriors of Darkness enter the picture.
No stranger to secrets, though, he keeps his suspicions to himself until Kass reveals the truth much later.
Today's Kass Lore Brainworm is thinking about the Scions learning who she actually is / what her origins are.
And Urianger, walking encyclopedia of the history and peoples of Etheirys, none of which line up with Kass's appearance or accent, standing there like
Oh yeah I guess I should #KassLore this ramble.
Two years later and the Monday-after-Daylight Savings Time results remain unchanged.
I suspect that Kass and Thancred proceed to have a very interesting, complicated, and long-evolving relationship throughout the MSQ, bonding over common burdens and their responsibilities (and guilt) towards others and the immense pressure they're both under, but not without conflict along the way.
Kass wouldn't give him the real story behind her intentions of course, but Thancred was nonetheless the first person who knowingly collaborated with her and was "on her side," so to speak.
So that *he* was the one who later became possessed by Lahabrea was a particularly cruel twist for her.
‡οΈ
"Adventurer who specifically has it out for Ascians" isn't something you run across every day, so in his subsequent attempt to lure her to the Scions, he had to acknowledge and validateβand offer her more information regardingβher mission.
‡οΈ
(Thancred had actually encountered Kass's interest in Ascians even before that, but that's a whole other mini-story.)
‡οΈ
It would be reasonable to expect any normal adventurer to have no idea what an Ascian even is, let alone recognize one and appear to have a personal vendetta against them. Even if they encountered and fought one, they wouldn't clock an Ascian for what they truly are.
Kass sure did.
‡οΈ
Bear in mind that Thancred is the first to witness her reaction to Ascians, as he was present early in ARR when she first encountered one (while aiding in the recovery of the sultana's stolen crown), which would *greatly* pique his interest in this strange adventurer.
‡οΈ
Her post-Ifrit outburst notwithstanding, Kass does feel... maybe "closer" wouldn't be the word, but Thancred does hold a noteworthy place in her experiences during ARR, and between that and her obsessive focus on trying to hunt down and exterminate the Ascians, his possession hits her very hard.
‡οΈ
But the guilt she dumped on him at the time would have been a major factor in him running himself ragged later, which in turn facilitated his possession by Lahabrea.
And THAT situation leads into all kinds of other dilemmas and self-flagellation for Kass...
‡οΈ
Once she settles downβand after a lot of placating and concessions by Minfiliaβshe'll eventually apologize to Thancred and be appropriately embarrassed by her misplaced anger at him.
‡οΈ
Obviously Thancred had his own work to do, and had nothing to do with Kass being on the mission (let alone fighting Ifrit), but I think he probably catches a lot of strays just by being involved in matters leading up to this.
‡οΈ
After the fight, she is likely to be *livid* at the Scions for not giving her better information (even though they couldn't have known she would be captured in the first place), especially Minfilia for sending her on the original mission and Thancred for [misplaced angry lashing out].
‡οΈ
Ifrit is not just something completely unfamiliar and *way* outside her prior experienceβand also she just watched a bunch of soldiers get mind-controlled, by the wayβbut also the most severe threat to her life, and therefore her mission, that she's encountered on the Source.
‡οΈ
More seriously (and after finishing the trial), I'm realizing that this would be Kass's first encounter with the concept of primals and her reaction would probably be... not great.
