None of my young friends at work knew who David Byrne or the Talking Heads were. They do know Kate Bush however!

One of the guys who shares my very common name seems to be a cinematographer. I used to get urgent and detailed instructions for days of filming all the time. I would usually tell them they misdirected because I could tell lots of money would be on the line if it did not get to the right person

I’m pretty sure I remember people a little younger than my parents (who were in their 30s and 40s TPing each others houses when I was a kid. Early 70s SFV. I cannot fathom.

My dad was born in 20s for instance, so I could be Canadian citizen. If he was born after 1940 we would have to look to see if other rules apply to make me eligible

It’s ok Pixar, I only want LGBTQ people to be in good movies anyway

Also true if your parent was born a very long time ago and was from Canada - I think cut off is 1940.

Someone liked so many of my gems of posts. I wish they weren’t a bot

I love that you said β€œchild” because that was my reaction too - it takes some sophistication to reach beyond what mass media promotes constantly, and recognize amazing talent and art.

I watched this this morning and I cried. lol. I love Liza, she has such a great sense of humor about herself, and she has been a true ally

I live in a small town, on the edge of a major metropolis, and it is insane how opposed people are to the idea of walkable cities. It is literally all I’ve ever wanted.

For sure. Totally random number of strips on the flag like thing that would normally be a crest with 13

When we moved to a house with a good amount of lightbulbs I made a huge push to switch as soon as IKEA started making the non tungsten bulbs available. up to then I was constantly changing bulbs!

I think transphobia deserves to be spoken about also. Of course all of these are intersectional, but transphobia is proving to be one we cannot ignore

Too hot to work - put that on a shirt

Jefferson Mays in Amadeus at Pasadena Playhouse was amazing. The production was gorgeous and the live music was great. Loved it!

I’m late to this, but file this under things you thought were happening but couldn’t fully put your finger on

I thought it’s a hard watch, even for someone from LA who want to laugh at LA folks. They are on the scary side of disfunctional

Yeah, I was going to say, he loses himself, but most importantly does find himself

I grew up near the boring part of Topanga Canyon Blvd. Even where it goes though town (Woodland Hills, Canoga Park, Chatsworth) it really only ever feels like a stroad. Has no real β€œboulevard” section.

There’s a possibility it may be the pollen from where the came, so other mangoes may be okay. I had allergy to plum, but now suspect it was mostly the pollen, as it seems to not be an allergy I have anymore.

β€œOpenly homosexual” is a funny way of putting it in 2026

When I was a kid I came to hate strawberries, then as an adult I came to discover it was the fully white on the inside tasteless CA strawberries I hated. The red ones were great

The void-like landscape is inspired. Like being nowhere at all.

I’m sick of people who blame one faction or another for losing the election. We all lost. If your candidate was so awesome, they would have won, I don’t care who we are talking about. So stop already.
