I'm a member of my neighborhood "Bezirksausschuss" in Germany - local council. The far-right AfD registered demonstrations in front of planned shelters for asylum seekers - and the members of the BA are trying to organize counter-demos. The CSU explicitly is NOT interested in joining π€¬

It's supposed to be like a metaphorical wall to prevent something like the rise of the n*** party from happening again
Essentially that the democratic political parties won't cooperate with far right parties. They don't vote on any of their resolutions, no matter what, and they don't enter into any agreements or negotiations. They certainly don't use them to achieve a majority on a vote.
So since the end of WWII there has been a consensus on something called the "Brandmauer"
