i'm enjoying tinkering on my coding agent setup too much, i might end up trying to set up a stateful thing like timkellogg.me/blog/2025/12... the next time i'm bored in the evening

I love that models have opinions on what makes them work better, and so far the suggestions have at least sometimes been helpful for me, too

github.com/badlogic/pi-... requires an issue that’s approved by a maintainer before allowing a PR to be opened, that seems like a decent start

love 2 hear it

Also I guess existing C tools weren’t strictly worse, I don’t wanna be a hater. Rusts loud panic certainly helped expose this though, as it usually does!

Best write up I guess

Reminds me of the time people got upset about rusts println! being able to panic, and the way existing coreutils handled similar errors ended up being somehow worse?

And of course Claude shows me what I’m looking for immediately.
```
[templates]
draft_commit_description = '''
concat(
builtin_draft_commit_description,
"\nJJ: ignore-rest\n",
diff.git(),
)
'''
```
Will check when kid is sleeping if it actually works

Or is there a workaround that I haven’t thought of? I haven’t found an option to include the whole diff in the description editor so far

I agree regarding commit manipulation, but I assume you’re including jj split in that statement? I still vastly prefer tig+ git commit —verbose, somehow having to remember exactly what I selected in jj split makes typing the description really hard for me. Is that not an issue for you?

each of the 5 apartments i lived in were less than a 10 minute walk from the nearest grocery store
it just feels normal to me, but sounds like i should be very happy about that

I think this is the first time I've lived walking distance from a grocery store and I'm out of my mind about it. I'll walk there several times a day. Oh did I forget to grab something? No big deal I'll simply Walk To The Store

2yo was sick until Thursday, which is when spouse and I got sick. So yes! But it’s only the third time since fall so we’re feeling very lucky

I started using it stealth mode at work this week and from what I can tell it’s purely local, assuming you carefully only push what you want to push. Fyi, it won’t ask you for a —force flag before force-pushing to a remote branch
