I wouldn’t say I’m obsessed with gas prices, but I try to keep track of them and pick specific gas stations, just not ones out of my way. I have been riding my motorcycle more because it gets much better gas mileage so while I won’t go out of my way to save on gas I will risk my life!

The one benefit is if you want to drive REALLY fast from the west coast to the east coast it can keep more of your drive at night so you can run a lot faster with less traffic!

It's a nice trick when I have to fly to LA for work and it's less than an hour between takeoff and landing, but I sure do pay for it with the 5 hour flight heading home.

It also heavily depends on whether you live on the east or west side of the timezone you are in. Permanent DST makes a lot more sense in LA than it makes in a lot of other places. The solution to that is 30 minute time zones and everyone will kill you for suggesting that.
