This was fun. Thank you! I got it in three, too.
Precious Rubbish is Kayla Eβs new intense, stark graphic novel about a harrowing childhood boldly illustrated in a kind of 50s era Aw Shucks style. I wrote about her & her book talk tomorrow at VCU. www.styleweekly.com/panelling-pa...
I miss them too.
"As someone who works with the body, thereβs this clear awareness that bodies are not just neutral instruments that we use to [move].β I had great conversation w Alicia DΓaz, a dancer & professor here in Richmond. Dancers know things in deep, earthly ways. I hope everyone has dancers in their life.
My record player begins to skip about 13 minutes in but it doesnβt matter when you listen to Steve Reich.

Makes me miss LA even more than I already do. Good interview. I donβt know much about his work, Iβll look it up.
Thank you!
Iβm so sorry, Roxane. Sending peace to you and your family. Sometimes I think moms are perpetually preparing for Letβs Make a Deal. Remember when Monty Hall would ask the audience who has 14 bobby pins and a bouncy ball? And theyβd get $100 or something?
@sommerb.bsky.social interviewed the authors of American Weather, Mary Margaret Alvarado and @coriejcole.bsky.social for the Brooklyn Rail. It's a very sad and hopeful book. I am happy to have helped with it.

American Weather is a beautiful, hyper-local artist book about something very terrible, gun violence in the USA. I interviewed poet Mary Margaret Alvarado, publisher Aaron Cohick, and ceramicist Corie J. Cole about how they made it. Itβs over at The Brooklyn Rail. @newlightspress.bsky.social
love you so
Goldfish is a great comic by Rae Whitlock. I got to talk with her and write about her work. www.styleweekly.com/exploring-co...
I'll have what she's having but she's having trouble listening to your excuses.
I'll have what she's having but she's having a nightmare with that flailing bald guy again.
I'll have what she's having but she's having sextuplets and just got furloughed.
I'll have what she's having but she's having a warrant served on your mom.
I'll have what she's having but she's having a grand mal seizure.
I'll have what she's having but she's having a moons over my hammy.

When people say someone is their rock I only picture a pee rock that you put in a litter box so your rat will pee in the right place.
Can't some expensive subscription gummies fix this?
If you are a glass half empty person you are being mean to air. Also if you are a glass half full person.
A lot of people on teevee have veins popping out of their heads when they smile or are being dramatic or are just looking off into the distance and I think it's because they are unhealthy, maybe malnourished.
I am developmentally editing a novel right now, and have recently written wall text for a painterβs new show & edited a YA novel in verse. I love doing this work. Let me know if you need any help.
I donβt know what that is. But it is funny.
Each spam number I block leads me one step closer to my life goal of blocking every possible phone number in the universe.
What a wonderful thing it was to talk with IBΓ© Bulinda Crawley about her incredible artist books (each one a kind of compassionate & fierce time machine) and her process of hand crafting them. Thank you, @burnaway.org. burnaway.org/magazine/a-r...
