Dark arts ain't like what it used to be.
An AI-generated animation of professional basketball player James Harden with the name Piufiis inexplicably on the back of his jersey.
I'm in TEARS right now. π
She got a strong head, period!
I'm almost willing to bet that this one action is what got him the gig. I'm serious. This was such as act of blind loyalty.
Your new head of DHS, folks. The tough guy who tried to snatch the BLACK PEOPLE AREN'T APES sign out of Al Green's hands at the State of the Union. (And missed badly.)
"doing the wild thing with Corey" is CRAZY. π€£
DNP-CRICK IN THE NECK
I would rather listen to Skip talk about foreign policy for an hour than to witness Stephen A. make a run for the White House. Wait, what? I honestly don't even know what the hell I'm even typing anymore.
Possibly the best cellular phone ever made. You could drop this from a window 20 stories up and it would still work.
I still have all the magazines I collected from my teen years through early adulthood. They've survived several moves (one cross country). They sit in a crate in my garage. One day I'll finally give them the ol' cellophane treatment. They're legit relics now and should be treated respectfully.
Naming your son Jalen is literally a monument to Jeanne Rose bc she created the name in the first place. I fully remember watching this live in 2022 as it happened. Wildly emotional.
I fully expect to this to get a mention on national TV at some point. Preferably Jalen Rose, the literal OG. It's too good.
Paywalling a story like this is crazy. Here's the list.
Her voice hit that "I was told by Applecare" register.
Just a small reminder that we have money. Tons of it. And we can spend it on things that matter if we REEEEEEALLY wanted to. But no. We have a former cable news host running the Armed Forces and playing G.I. Joe w/ real humans.
Everything is a mess right now (to say the absolute least) but I'll admit that this deluge of video clips of Noem getting held to the fire by House Reps re: DHS/ICE and Leavitt getting banged on by the press re: Iran have perked up my day a little. Just a little.
A graphic in tribute to several music industry titans that have left their physical beings. RIP Jay Dee, Proof, Baatin, Phife (of A Tribe Called Quest), DOOM, Amp Fiddler, Roy Hargrove, Trugoy/Dave (of De La Soul), D'Angelo and Bob Power.
The physical is temporary.
The music is eternal.
The memories are indelible. ποΈ
Love you, Bob. β€οΈβπ©Ή
Oh, in case anyone is wonderingβ¦ the font for all the retro NBA on NBC on-screen stats is Impact. Itβs a classic. It used to come standard on PCs. Theyβre even scaling and skewing the type ugly in some cases (not pictured here) for extra authenticity. My kudos to the art team.
Iβm not gonna lie β Iβm fully digging this Throwback Tuesday NBA on NBC thing. The sterile retro graphics are so great. Iβm a nerd about this kind of thing.
THANK YOU DAVE π©΅π©΅
On this insanely goofy promo track for De La Soul, at about the 1:30 mark, Bob Power makes fun of his role as the "token white guy" RIP to a Real One. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeCL...
This is art. Pure, unadulterated art. Needed this today. Big shouts to @wearedelasoul.com. And thank you, Dave.
He was on a blessed path from the jump.
Coincidentally, Chip-Fu was *just* a guest on Math Hoffa's My Expert Opinion podcast/show. The full episode is only available for channel members now but the highlights they clipped are super dope. He was a dope guest. www.youtube.com/MathHoffa/vi...
Yes, it does. It needs to live forever. It's incredibly well done from an early digital/web nostalgia standpoint.
All of us Gen Xβers who grew up poring through the liners notes and album credits on vinyl albums, the J cards of cassette tapes and CDβs reading all the names involved with the albums we loved will forever love & appreciate the contributions Bob Power made to the music that was our life soundtrack.
This is the most complete playlist you're gonna come across. The whole kit and kaboodle. Y'know I completely forgot Bob Power mixed the Fu-Schnickens debut album. I gotta go back and listen to that for the first time in a couple decades.
The homepage of Bob Power's personal website with a guitar, a microphone and other fun, clickable things.
The Mix Room section of Bob Power's website. You can click on different equipment in the room and get a description of what they are.
The Selected Projects section of Bob Power's website. An illustration features work from A Tribe Called Quest, D'Angelo, De La Soul, The Roots, Erykah Badu, Ozomatli, Citizen Cope, Common and Me'shell Ndegeocello.
The Guitars section of Bob Power's website with a collage of different guitars. You can click each one and get a description.
I didn't know until tonight that Bob Power had a personal website. It's a fun throwback to the Macromedia Flash days. (It's just Javascript, though.) So nerdy. So clickable. If you're a gear head like he was, it's heaven. He shared all his knowledge. Zero gatekeeping: bobpower.com
NOOOOOOOO!
