The Toronto Public Library might be my favourite part of this city. I read a lot and I'm always discovering new programs and services they offer.

That sounds so frustrating. If it's only causing issues to your skin it sounds like gloves may help. I was a tattooer and had to wear nitrile gloves most of the day for years, it was an adjustment but became second nature. You get used to it and if they fit well you still have plenty of dexterity.
Book cover reads 'anxiety colouring book the luminous hollow' with images of stars, fairies and mushrooms.
A bird and moth with candles, bottles, mortar and pestle and herbs.
A hollow tree filled with tiny books with a tiny mouse reading.
Here's a sneak peak- the cover, my favourite drawing I contributed with a little chickadee and potions. I also really loved this little reading mouse by Faith. #colouringbook #journal #colouringpages
I contributed 3 drawings to a colouring/activity book recently. 10 Canadian artists are featured and there are exercises for mindfulness. It was a lovely project to work on and the company owner was great to work with. If you enjoy colouring books and whimsical art check it out! mindfulcolorings.ca

Can't wait to see everyone's lovely (and sorely needed) art!
This illustration shows a white dog with dark spots happily digging a hole to stash his beloved tennis ball. In the distance, his ownerβa young lady in a blue dotted cardiganβis calling him to come home. Theyβre in a beautiful field filled with pink flowers, lush green grass, and surrounded by tall, gentle trees.

I had a Substack newsletter but deleted my account when I learned of this: www.theguardian.com/media/2026/f...
Instead of a newsletter I'm going to do a blog post on my website every Monday. I posted one yesterday about some postcards I was commissioned to do. www.katedaviesillustration.ca/blog

If you're in Southern Ontario this book is a great introduction of what you can plant: douglas-mcintyre.com/products/978...
This is something that I try to tell anyone that will listen. Honey Bees are livestock. Save the wild bees, plant native trees and plants.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that. β€οΈ
I'm working on a postcard for this coming Thursday's #kidlitartpostcard day. I've been thinking for a while I might enjoy and be good at children's illustration. I've been putting together a portfolio of work toward this goal. It's scary trying new things but you don't know unless you try right?
Awe so pretty!

So lucky and special!!!
I was just waiting for a GO train in Oakville to head home from visiting family and a BALD EAGLE FLEW OVER THE STATION! I am very excited about this unexpected observation. Always keep your eyes peeled. Wish I'd had binoculars on me.

I feel like so many people don't even realize we have them!
Thank you! I probably should have specified I meant herbaceous plants. I'm in Southern Ontario in the Carolinian zone so we don't have as many all year round green conifers as farther north. I'm also in a city so it's rather grey here without our gardens and leafy ravines.
