Yeah, depending on what technique you use it can leave a raised seam, depending on the project you can even incorporate it into the design 🤭 but yeah, probably best to avoid for a baby blanket 😆

Yeah, cos it really depends on the type of join you want and whether you’re bothered about having a raised seam or not 😆

I don’t think you’d lose the actual squares if you join them up at the end, cos you can just unpick the join if it goes wonky 🤭

Yeah, there are a looooot of different joining techniques 😆

Yeah, I think with join as you go you like crochet the squares into the blanket, I’m not sure, I’ve never actually tried it 😆
