Riding to school in style
Great idea, happy to come talk bikes sometime
Canada is doing amazingly cheap and fast protected bike lanes that are all ages and abilities
Why does it take so long to complete these projects?!? All this stuff should have gone in with the original construction
Between the financing of a new ballpark to freeway expansions, portland is making some big economic moves with questionable benefits or ability to pay for them. Meanwhile, cutting community centers and block parties. Doesnβt add up.
Shame that Chris and Joe were not able to give their full presentation or have much of an opportunity to talk afterwards. That committee chair position is important
We could expand freeways. Or we could spend our transportation resources on people and our planet.
Bring him home!
Go Rob Go!
Do you think noise cancelling headphones and smart phone for entertainment have increased transit ridership or decreased it? Excluding transit directions which have been an obvious plus
Lower carbon emissions too.
Would you be okay with parts of east Portland with walkways and more trafficked spots with sidewalks?
It is a better use of money than widening a freeway. Can we get a committee going on how to reduce the cost of building sidewalks?
We gotta figure out how to make them cheaper and build them faster and right now there isnβt anyone doing that. My worry, and I would be very happy to be wrong, is that we focus too much on the βsoftβ changes at the expense of the βhardβ ones and it gives elected leaders an out.
All those things make it easier though! Maybe if there was housing in the Zidell yards it would be even easier. Just got back from Victoria BC where in the last 8 years they have been installing protected bike lanes everywhere, now they have a 13% bike mode share and rising.
I wonder if the governor considered the same thing before exempting βhistoric districtsβ from new Oregon housing rules
Seems like pcef needs to step in

I'm starting my campaign outreach. If you get an email from me, rest assured it was NOT composed using any AI. It's always weird sending 50 slightly modified copies of the same email, but I believe it's worth it. Let me know if you want me to hear from your PTA! robgforpps.com
Hey friends and nerds! Bike valet icon and Very In-Portland Person @kielbybike.bsky.social and I recorded a podcast!
We both love to analyze current local issues in urbanism, bikes, and planning in our cities (Seattle and Portland) and thought others might enjoy the conversation too.
Check it out π
Seems counter productive
Did you know that America's biggest bike valet service is right here in Portland?

I always assumed he would use teeth
I have always wondered if βbicycle tunnelsβ might work instead. Borrow a bike at the start and end of the tunnel and roll from one side to the other.

Earlier this month, we announced the purchase of 265 new zero-emission buses that will operate on routes across the five boroughs. This purchase is made possible by congestion relief funding!
Here are the daily average bikes parked at the bike valet per year.
Are 9watts and watts the same? That is a lot of opinions
