They are easier to read with older eyes in artificial light!
A pet hate of mine is that I read quite a bit of non fiction and if itβs paperback itβs often too small print when I know the hardback would have been fine.
I never buy hardback fiction though - too big, heavy and expensive.
I never know how long a book is in terms of words.
Presumably the kindlers know this?
Itβs the sort of thing that should be compulsory to print on the back cover!
The Dubai exiles remind me of the white British people who in the 1970βs would move to South Africa for the wonderful lifestyle.
This is bloody good π
For World Book Day we are dressed as someone who read the book before the TV show got popular and are spending the day saying βwell actually in the bookβ until we are forcibly removed from the office.
Farmer, chemical factory worker
News headline on R4 at 5.30pm just reported a statement by Pete Hegseth which I know factually was not what he said.
The BBC have lied to sanewash his stupidity.
Why?
Well / obviously I know why, itβs part of their pro Trump pro Farage campaign, but nonetheless itβs a bit poor.
Gosh that really reminds me of how games were packaged in that eraβ¦
I can almost smell the transformer of a Commodore 64 and feel the cheap paper of a copy of Personal Computer Weekly between my fingers.
Happy days!
Bomber Hegseth
Nice day for it
I think itβs impossible to accurately forecast population 64 years into the future.
Would be very interesting to see the forecasts by country for today from 1962!
Netanyahuβs going to bomb the Ayatollahβs funeral, isnβt he?
Or Hegseth - I assume bombing mourners is on brand for his macho play war.
The soliciting by the UK press of negative comments about the UK Prime Minister from Donald Trump and the gleeful publication of his ramblings is disgraceful.
Raytheon Executive: I know youβre skeptical about buying American again. But hear me out. The MIM-104 Patriot is the only surface to air missile system with a proven track record of success against the US Air Force.
Danish Defense Minister: Continue.
$120 a barrel is pretty attractive for Putin
A vile, authoritarian and misogynistic regime that wears it's religiosity in a twisted, performative way, has no qualms in the public execution of its political opponents and has interfered, often violently in the affairs of other countries has now turned its attention to Iran.
I try to get my teenage children to read my paper copies of The Economist but they just wonβt pick it upβ¦ it was reading it in the 6th form college library 40 years ago that made me the subscriber I subsequently became.
War is an admission of failure.
As boards of peace go, this one's got off to a poor start.
Spain wasnβt really a monarchy in 1950? It had been declared a kingdom by Franco in 1947, but didnβt have a monarch.
Is Trump planning another ballroom?
It shows the depths of support to which Badenoch has led the Tories that the non existence of their vote in a by-election held under an unpopular Prime Minister barely merits a word of note.
Trumpβs attack on Iran has me seriously questioning the legitimacy and value of the FIFA Peace Prize
So far I've come up with one rational explanation for Labour's response, which is that maybe Reeves has placed a significant amount of Treasury funds on a very specific accumulator about this May's elections, including Labour losing all their London councils and finishing fifth on projected vote.
Is being βvery whiteβ a product of the famous Manchester climate? π€
I like your point. As a, ahem, sophisticated voter capable of seeing multiple points and nuance, the recent (national) Labour sloganeering that Iβve seen, all similar to your drugs example but different topics, treating all voters as one dimensional thickos, really annoys me!
It must annoy others.
The right are furious that a white, English tradesperson got elected.
Matt Goodwin is Adrian Mole after he's been on Facebook for twenty years.
A picture of Reform suffering a massive loss because they are bigoted shits that only care about making themselves rich.
Matt looking like not only has he lost what Nigel promised he'd win, but he's just remembered the radiator needs bleeding and he can't remember what you do.
